Job Description

Veterinary Surgeon Opportunity - Dorset Coast

Want to work your passion with flexibility and a great work-life balance? To accommodate their growing client base and due to the relocation of a current member of the vet team, our client is now looking to expand their team near the Dorset Coast.

Who We Are

The practice is purpose-built with some great facilities including:

  • Operating theatre
  • 2 dedicated consult rooms
  • Nurse consult room/x-ray room
  • New digital x-ray
  • Ultrasound
  • In-house lab equipment
  • Full multi-parameter monitoring equipment
  • Other essentials

We’re also happy to discuss investing in additional equipment in the future, depending on your areas of interest.

The Role and You

Our ideal candidate will be experienced and confident with:

  • Routine neutering procedures
  • Emergency and critical care

Although not for large portions of your overall rota, you’ll also be confident in periods of sole charge.

With our focus on creating a rota and workplace that allows flexibility, enjoyment, and a place to thrive and grow both clinically and non-clinically, we are happy to consider applications from full or part-time vets. There isn’t an out-of-hours requirement, and we are closed on Sundays, allowing everyone to make the most of every minute of life outside of work!

Our days are structured with 15-minute consults as standard, and time taken for lunch and admin are also factored into the day. We meet regularly as a team to discuss issues and how to progress our patient and client care, with an open and flexible approach the rest of the time.

What We’re Offering

  • Salary of £50,000 to £70,000 FTE, commensurate with experience
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave as standard (pro-rata for part-time)
  • RCVS and VDS memberships are paid as well as the opportunity to have one other membership paid
  • Life Assurance 4 x Annual Salary
  • Contributory Pension Scheme
  • Dedicated CPD allowance including support towards Certificates
  • Relocation Allowance
  • Cycle to Work Scheme
  • Access to Colleague Assistance Programmes – Retail Trust, Port of Call and MHFA

Not only are we offering a great role, but the opportunity for a great lifestyle too! Our practice is situated in Dorchester; in the heart of Dorset, close to idyllic beaches, dramatic coastlines, and scenic walks. Dorchester, and nearby Weymouth, have vibrant social scenes, ‘outstanding’ schools in the area, and great transport links to London – a generous relocation package is available for the right candidate.
