Job Title: Store Operator
Location: Kawe, Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania
Gross Salary: TZS 1,800,000 - 1,900,000
Job Purpose
Our client, a leading retailer in the tile and home improvement industry, is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Store Operator to manage the day-to-day operations of their store. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving sales growth, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining operational efficiency. This role requires an entrepreneurial mindset, leadership skills, and the ability to work independently under pressure while meeting performance targets.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Customer Service
- Provide outstanding customer service by understanding client needs and offering tailored product recommendations.
- Drive sales through proactive engagement, upselling, and building long-term client relationships.
- Monitor product categories, ensuring accurate stock counts and well-organized displays.
- Collaborate with the sales team to meet and exceed monthly performance targets (KPIs).
Operations & Inventory Management
- Oversee stock levels, inventory processes, and warehousing operations for smooth store management.
- Conduct regular stock audits and ensure compliance with inventory procedures.
- Maintain product displays according to merchandising standards for an enhanced shopping experience.
Team Leadership & Administration
- Lead, motivate, and develop the store team to achieve operational excellence.
- Ensure compliance with administrative and operational policies.
- Support the team with customer transactions and after-sales service to enhance satisfaction.
Qualifications & Skills
- Matric or equivalent qualification.
- 2+ years of management experience in a retail environment.
- Strong sales acumen with a proven track record of achieving targets.
- Entrepreneurial and innovative mindset with a focus on business growth.
- Proficiency in SAP software and Microsoft Office (Excel & Word).
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans with strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
