Position: Brand Manager - Luxury Alcoholic Beverages

Location: Nairobi

Gross salary: 200k to 300k

Job summary: Our client is looking for a Brand Manager who will oversee the development and implementation of compelling strategies for its portfolio of luxury alcoholic brands, from Marketing (consumer profile, positioning, brand activations, on/off-trade programming), to Communication (Paid, Earned & Owned media, Digital, CRM) to deliver annual sales and revenue objectives within defined A&P (investments) budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

Brand Management & Marketing (50%):

  • Develop and execute compelling brand plans aligned with the broader strategies, addressing local market opportunities and objectives.
  • Lead the execution of 360° brand programs (ATL/BTL) to drive growth and build brand equity.
  • Collaborate with regional teams to ensure local implementation of global/regional PR plans, trade activities, and marketing campaigns.
  • Oversee the creation and execution of large-scale activations, including media campaigns, pop-up events, and partnerships.
  • Develop and implement integrated communication strategies with the Communications Team and media agency.
  • Drive digital marketing initiatives, including social media activations and CRM, ensuring brand consistency.
  • Track performance and adjust strategies to optimize results.
  • Ensure proper brand representation during BTL activations and venue selection.

Strategic Business Planning (20%):

  • Manage brand A&P in collaboration with the Market Manager, setting KPIs and tracking ROI.
  • Analyze program results and recommend adjustments to meet brand goals.

Leadership and Education (20%):

  • Act as the local brand expert and lead team efforts in key brand projects and strategies.
  • Foster product expertise through training, market visits, and customer interactions.
  • Deliver internal brand training and uphold the brands image locally.

Performance Management & Monitoring (10%):

  • Monitor monthly performance, identify issues and opportunities, and report on brand performance.
  • Utilize external data to analyze brand positioning relative to competitors.
  • Share monthly reports and insights by the 10th of each month.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in brand management, marketing, or communications, preferably in the luxury goods, high-end beverages, or premium lifestyle sectors.
  • Industry Knowledge: Extensive experience with luxury brands, particularly in alcoholic beverages or related high-end consumer goods. A deep understanding of the luxury consumers mindset, values, and purchasing behavior is crucial.
  • Strategic Mindset: Strong ability to think strategically and creatively to drive growth in a competitive luxury market. Familiarity with the nuances of luxury brand development and consumer engagement is essential.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a sophisticated understanding of luxury brand storytelling and a keen eye for detail in all creative outputs.
  • Education: A degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related fields.
  • Passion for Luxury: A true passion for the world of luxury, fine spirits, and premium products. An innate understanding of the refined tastes and exclusive experiences that define a high-end brand.
