Job Purpose

Our client, a leading retailer in the tile and home improvement industry, is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Assistant Store Manager to support the stores day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving sales growth, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining operational efficiency. This role requires strong leadership skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a focus on meeting performance targets.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Customer Service

  • Provide outstanding customer service by understanding client needs and offering tailored product recommendations.
  • Drive sales through proactive engagement, upselling, and building long-term client relationships.
  • Monitor product categories, ensuring accurate stock counts and well-organized displays.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to meet and exceed monthly performance targets (KPIs).

Operations & Inventory Management

  • Oversee stock levels, inventory processes, and warehousing operations for smooth store management.
  • Conduct regular stock audits and ensure compliance with inventory procedures.
  • Maintain product displays according to merchandising standards for an enhanced shopping experience.

Team Leadership & Administration

  • Lead, motivate, and develop the store team to achieve operational excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with administrative and operational policies.
  • Support the team with customer transactions and after-sales service to enhance satisfaction.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Matric or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience in sales, customer service, or retail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong sales acumen with a customer-centric approach.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
  • High attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Must be a team player with a proactive and positive attitude.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
