Talent Management Superintendent
For our client in Paramaribo, GameChangers Human Capital is looking for A
Talent Management Superintendent which is a key role within the HR team of
the company and reports to the HR Manager.
As a Talent Management Superintendent you lead the site strategy, policy,
procedure, and program development responsibility and oversight for all talent
related and recruiting activities in the organization. Aligns HR processes and
programs to business priorities, culture and organizational values. Provides
vision, strategy and development of region-specific solutions. Partners with
senior business leaders and HRBPs across business units and geographies.
Essential Duties:
- Leads the talent organization and activities within the Suriname talent Center of Excellence following local needs and adhering to regional guidelines.
- Works with the regional HRLT to define talent management strategic priorities and work efforts; monitors success of talent programs and recommends improvements; identifies talent trends and metrics.
- Partners with the business to build the capacity of individuals and teams through effective employee development, involvement, communication, and influence supervision efforts.
- Delivers global and regional development programs to a wide variety of audiences; lead the train-the-trainer activities at sites for new program rollouts.
- Assembles and leads teams; teams of HR professionals and/or teams of business leaders to design region-specific programs or processes.
- Makes recommendations for final approval for program and policy modifications.
- Supports the design, implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of the talent management processes (Performance Management, Talent Assessment and Succession Planning).
- Assists the HRBPs in utilization of the talent processes and tools and ensures the process and tools are implemented appropriately across the region.
- Provides support for escalated employee inquiries related to talent management programs and processes.
Inclusion & Diversity:
- Coordinates with Global I&D to design and implement inclusion and diversity initiatives for the country.
- Monitors I&D metrics and prepares reports on results including monitoring the talent pipeline, successors, external hires, candidate pools and localization plans.
- Develops and delivers I&D training for the region (Inclusive Leadership, Inclusion & Diversity Fundamentals, Unconscious Bias, etc.)
- Coordinates recruiting events targeting diversity groups.
- Supports the development of a diverse pipeline of talent in the local communities.
- Works with HRBPs and managers to identify site or functional level strategies to build a more diverse internal talent pipeline.
Talent Acquisition:
- Coordinates with the Regional Talent Acquisition teams to design and implement initiatives for the country.
- Monitors TA metrics and prepares reports on results including monitoring the talent pipeline, successors, external hires and candidate pools. Reports results to HRBPs and recruiters and makes recommendations for improvement. Coordinates and conducts employment interviews and candidate selection.
The duties and responsibilities listed above are representative of the
nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive.
Working conditions/regulatory requirements:
- Works at operations and projects of the company on a schedule of 14 days of work at 10 hours per day at a camp followed by 7 days of rest including transportation or located in the Paramaribo office working 5 days 8 hours per day with two days off.
- Works in remote locations with regular boat travel to communities in and around the sites.
- Wears personal protective equipment including steel-toed boots, long sleeved shirts, or any other equipment to perform duties safely as required by the Health & Safety Plan
Required Technical Skills, Training and Experience
Knowledge:
• Minimal Bachelor degree/ Preferred University Degree.
• Bilingual in English and Dutch.
• Expertise in talent management processes and programs.
• Expertise in workforce inclusion and diversity initiatives.
• Business focused; understands the core capabilities of the organization and
how the organization functions.
• Process orientation/continuous improvement mindset.
Experience:
• Minimum 8 years of experience in talent management, learning and development,
organizational development or human resource fields or 12+ years of equivalent
combination of education and experience.
• Implementing talent management systems and processes.
• Facilitating leadership development workshops.
• Mining, construction, utilities or other heavy industry experience is
preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
• Strong facilitation, consulting and communication skills.
• Strong project management and change management skills.
• Ability to listen, coach and influence others.
• Ability to build relationships, establish trust and be seen as a consultant
to HRBPs who directly support the business.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, as well as effectively work within
ambiguous situations.

• Customer obsessed; ability to consider the work from the customer
perspective.
• Must have ability to effectively utilize Microsoft Word and Excel
applications and Learning Management Systems.
• Ability to translate HR work, offerings or positions to the language of the
business.
• Strong capability with Success Factors and HR systems and tools (desired).
• Current knowledge of effective learning and development design and
instructional methods.
