Description
The client is seeking an exceptional Middle School & High School Science Teacher to join its growing faculty for the 2025-2026 school year. Must be comfortable being in person on campus with students.
Requirements:
- Florida teaching certification preferred, along with at least a bachelors degree.
- At least two years of experience teaching science to middle school students.
- Strong knowledge in areas such as Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to build effective relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Comfort with technology and a willingness to incorporate it into the classroom; experience with platforms like Google Classroom, Zoom, SeeSaw, and others is a plus.
- A positive attitude and a strong desire to work as part of a collaborative team.
Responsibilities:
- Teach assigned classes, providing effective, professional instruction, assessments, and classroom management.
- Offer individualized and small group instruction to tailor the curriculum to each students needs.
- Design and implement curriculum and teaching strategies that align with the schools mission, values, and standards.
- Work with colleagues to develop curriculum and improve instructional practices.
- Foster strong communication and relationships with students and their parents.
- Complete required reports and tasks (such as lesson plans, grading, parent/student communication, exams, attendance) in a timely and professional manner.
- Stay updated on subject knowledge and educational theory, sharing this knowledge to help improve the schools curriculum.
- Inspire students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge that provide a strong educational foundation based on their abilities.
- Reinforce and re-teach specific science concepts or skills as needed.
- Provide accelerated and enrichment science instruction to students as necessary.
- Look for cross-curricular connections, especially within the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) framework, and integrate technology that encourages scientific thinking.
- Refine assessment practices to set goals and objectives for students, using appropriate evaluation methods, and regularly reviewing these with teachers, administrators, and parents.
- Maintain a growth mindset in teaching and work toward continuous professional development.
- Help uphold school policies, regulations, and expectations.
- Build and maintain professional, collaborative relationships with faculty, staff, and community partners for the benefit of students.
- Support the Principal and administrative leadership team in their work.
- Participate in workshops, meetings, and other activities, as well as contribute to various aspects of school life.
- Represent the school ethically at community or public events.
- Take on other duties as assigned by the administration.
- Ensure the supervision of students during classes and at all times when on or off campus.
