Description:

The client is looking for a dynamic and motivated Associate Attorney to join their Labor & Employment Practice Group in one of their California offices, including Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Diego, San Francisco, or Silicon Valley. The ideal candidate will have 3-4 years of experience in labor and employment litigation and will focus on California wage and hour class action litigation, PAGA claims, and single plaintiff employment litigation. Additional expertise in areas like employee handbooks and day-to-day employment advice and counseling is also required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle a range of litigation tasks, including discovery, motion practice, taking and defending depositions, and researching and drafting pleadings, motions, and court filings.
  • Assist in trial preparation in both state and federal courts and participate in settlement conferences and negotiations.
  • Demonstrate client relationship management and actively contribute to business development efforts.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, offering legal counsel and support on complex employment-related matters.

Qualifications:

  • A JD from an ABA-approved law school and active membership in the California Bar in good standing.
  • 3-4 years of experience in labor and employment litigation, especially in wage and hour issues, PAGA claims, and individual employment disputes.
  • Strong legal writing skills, along with practical experience in discovery, motion practice, depositions, and drafting court filings.
  • Experience with trial preparation and participation in settlement negotiations is a plus.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with clients and develop new business, with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
  • Top academic credentials required.
