Description:
The client is seeking an experienced Special Counsel with at least 6 years of litigation experience to join their Litigation Department in one of their Florida offices (Jacksonville, Miami, Orlando, or Tampa). This full-time, non-partner track position will focus on Complex Litigation Construction matters, specifically multi-party construction defect cases. The ideal candidate must be confident in working autonomously and capable of handling complex legal issues related to construction litigation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage multi-party construction defect litigation matters.
- Conduct discovery, draft substantive dispositive motions, and handle depositions.
- Provide courtroom or arbitration experience, with some exposure to trial or evidentiary hearings.
- Work independently while ensuring effective time management and organization of tasks.
- Demonstrate a strong command of oratory, research, and writing skills.
- Have a baseline understanding of insurance risk transfer issues related to property damage claims.
Qualifications:
- At least 6 years of litigation experience, with significant exposure to complex construction litigation.
- Must hold a JD from an ABA-approved law school and be an active, good-standing member of the Florida Bar.
- Strong courtroom or arbitration experience, with a focus on discovery and motion drafting.
- Board Certification in Construction Law by the Florida Bar is preferred.
- Self-motivated, focused, with excellent organizational and time management skills.
