An American family based in SW10 are looking for a long-term, full-time nanny to join them in caring for their two young boys, aged nearly 4 and 1.

They are a busy, active household that places value on creating a happy, calm and engaging home environment. Having lived in London for nearly a decade, they are now settled in Chelsea and embracing this chapter as a family of four. Both parents work in demanding careers (marketing and finance), primarily office-based during the week, but remain very hands-on and invested in their children's day-to-day lives.

Their two boys have very different but complementary personalities. The eldest is energetic, curious and full of imagination - sociable, confident, and always eager to engage with the world around him. The youngest is calmer and more observant, currently transitioning into toddlerhood and growing in confidence and playfulness by the day.

The family are looking for someone who feels like a natural fit within their home. Personality is key. They would love a nanny who is warm, playful, and genuinely enjoys spending time with children - someone who brings a positive, calm energy while still being engaging, proactive and fun. A naturally playful spirit is far more important to them than years and years of formal experience; someone who can slot in comfortably and build a lovely, natural dynamic with both boys.

This is a sole charge role for the majority of the time, although there will be elements of shared care when one or both parents are working from home. Mum in particular is very mindful to give the nanny space and autonomy, allowing them to take full ownership of the day, while still being around as needed. They are keen for someone confident, capable and able to hit the ground running, without needing close direction.

During term time, the eldest will be starting Reception in Notting Hill. The family tend to share school runs between themselves and the nanny, creating a flexible, collaborative routine. The boys enjoy a mix of activities including swimming, music and local classes such as Monkey Music, alongside plenty of outdoor play, park visits and time exploring the local area.

The family place a strong emphasis on getting outside daily and creating a good balance between structured activities and free play. They are looking for someone proactive in planning outings, confident in navigating London with young children, and happy to embrace an active, outdoorsy lifestyle in all weather.

All standard nursery duties apply. A cleaner comes weekly, so the nanny's focus will be on the children's laundry, keeping their spaces organised, and preparing simple, nutritious meals. The children are good eaters; however, the eldest has allergies to peanuts and eggs and is currently undergoing exposure therapy, so confidence and attentiveness around this is important.

Driving is not essential, although a bonus. Occasional availability for evening babysitting (1–2 nights per week) would be appreciated, as would openness to proxy parenting and travel, although this is not essential.

The family travel occasionally and would love someone open to joining them on trips to Europe or the US, although this is flexible and not essential.
