A family based in Maida Vale are looking for a nanny for their 5 year old daughter. Mum is an author and screen writer and Dad works in finance. The position comes highly recommended by their two previous Norland trained nannies.

The little girl loves reading (is reading one year ahead of her age), and attends a weekly French club and film club, with maths club and tennis at the weekends. The family are hoping to do daily swimming lessons with her for a few weeks over the summer holidays to get her swimming independently - she is already very comfortable in the water. She adores stories, drama, dressing up, dancing and music and loves to play with her toys at home above all. She has a real talent for imaginative play. She also eats everything and is very keen on flavourful dishes and she loves home-baked snacks, particularly malt chocolate dinosaurs, apple and ginger madeleines, and courgette choc chip muffins.

G5's routine is based in Maida Vale and Notting Hill with occasional trips to Marylebone and St John's Wood. She wakes up at 6.30 am, has breakfast at 7 am, and does two maths worksheets or writing exercises before school. School drop off is at 8.40 am, and the school is a 10–15-minute drive from the family home, traffic depending. Pick up from school is at 3 pm and will be 3.30 pm from September. The two after-school clubs are from 4 pm to 5 pm, and the family generally bring dinner with them or eats out on these days, as she still likes to eat early at around 5.30 pm.

There is access to Cloud Twelve in Notting Hill, which is a short walk from school, and she happily does her daily reading and homework there. After dinner and bathtime, Mum and Dad take over for story time and put her to bed.

This role will appeal to someone who enjoys cooking and baking, and it would be a huge bonus if the evening meal could be enough for the whole family. While G5 is at school, there will be nanny duties such as cooking, clothes and toys maintenance, planning extracurriculars with Mum, sourcing holiday activities and camps to attend, as well as organising play dates with her friends. Some afternoons G5 loves to come straight home from school to play so the nanny can set up a few imaginative games in the living room. She also has a few ongoing projects that she likes to do and that Mum and Dad support her with, such as writing her story collection or putting observations in her diary.

During the school holidays, G5 usually does local classes and a selection of half-day camps - Drama, Robotics, Science, Swimming, Dance, Football - followed by theatre trips, events at the Royal Albert Hall, forest school, and picnics in the parks. The family have a beautiful communal garden, a large park and children's playground beside their home, a local library with a good children's section, including their membership at Cloud Twelve, so there are lots of places to play and socialise.

Mum and Dad both currently work from home. They do have an apartment in the building next door where they work, but they move between both buildings during the day, so even though the role is sole charge, our prospective nanny would have to be comfortable with parents being in the home some of the time. Their elderly parents also visit London in the summer and so a nanny who could spend time with them and support them in their time with G5 would be much appreciated. They are a very close, loving and attentive family and are looking for someone kind, energetic, and collaborative.

For a residential nanny, the family are offering a top floor private one bed apartment with a full-time concierge, lift, and parking. The apartment is 100m from the family's home. They also have a family car that is available to the nanny and which they are welcome to use at weekends with prior notice. In addition, the gym in the park beside their home has recently been refurbished and has excellent facilities and midday/evening classes. Mum uses the gym herself, and they would be happy to provide an annual gym membership for their new nanny. They would be open to hiring a daily nanny providing they are comfortable with the family's minimal UK travel requirements and the annual three weeks spent in Singapore.

The family have extended family in Singapore and travels there for three weeks each year (usually December/January). A private serviced apartment with a swimming pool will be provided for the nanny when they are there. There may also be some short trips around Asia e.g. Thailand, Bali, and Japan. For the rest of the year, their holidays will take place in the English countryside, and they may do the occasional trip to Europe.

The family have a 6 year old ragdoll cat named Toby and the family have a cleaner that comes twice a week. A candidate who can speak French or Italian is a bonus and a driver is essential.
