With a strong pipeline of upcoming projects, Fyfe is expanding its Power & Electrification capability and is seeking an experienced Design Manager to drive innovation and technical excellence across digital delivery.

The Opportunity

This is a senior leadership role suited to a professional who combines technical expertise with maintaining strong client relationships across the project lifecycle. You will lead the multidiscipline design teams across power and energy assets, driving governance and quality assurance.

You will play a key role in shaping bid strategies and proposal development across water, wastewater, transport and industrial projects, while mentoring teams and advancing Fyfe's design capability across the business.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design delivery at concept functional and detailed design level with focus on outcomes rather than hands on production
  • Oversee and coordinate multidisciplinary teams through design and delivery stages
  • Drive design excellence governance and quality assurance
  • Lead work winning activities including bid strategy proposal development and client presentations
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships positioning the business as a preferred partner
  • Actively contribute to business development market intelligence and pipeline strategy
  • Manage senior stakeholder engagement as part of project lifecycle and client interface
  • Represent the business externally across pursuits delivery conversations and market forums

Requirements

Education and Professional Background

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical or relevant discipline)
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng)
  • Demonstrated experience in engineering consulting, design and delivery

Technical and Industry Knowledge

  • Design knowledge of high and low voltage electrical systems, control systems, and plant integration
  • Proven capability in water, industrial, or infrastructure sectors with design and site experience
  • Ability to integrate advanced engineering principles and technologies to solve complex problems

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence clients and stakeholders
  • Strategic mindset with hands-on technical capability
  • Proven ability to lead teams and mentor engineers and drive design innovation
