Our Environmental Planning team works closely with clients to unlock development opportunities, navigate complex approval pathways, and deliver projects that create lasting value. As our Victorian team continues to grow, we are seeking a Graduate Environmental Planner to join us and build a rewarding career in planning and impact assessment.
About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or final-year student to gain hands-on experience across a diverse range of projects spanning renewables, infrastructure, urban development, and property.
Working alongside experienced planners and environmental professionals, you will contribute to planning studies, development approvals, impact assessments, stakeholder engagement activities, and multidisciplinary project delivery. You'll receive mentoring, structured development opportunities, and exposure to real projects that will help you build technical capability and consulting experience from day one.
What You'll Be Doing
- Assisting with planning and environmental assessment projects across Victoria.
- Undertaking research into planning controls, policies, legislation, and approval pathways.
- Supporting the preparation of planning permit applications, reports, submissions, and due diligence assessments.
- Reviewing planning schemes, zones, overlays, and referral requirements.
- Assisting with project coordination, document management, and tracking project actions and deliverables.
- Supporting meetings with clients, councils, and stakeholders and preparing meeting notes and follow-up actions.
- Collaborating with planners, environmental specialists, engineers, and other technical professionals across multidisciplinary projects.
- Developing your knowledge of Victorian planning legislation, environmental approvals, and impact assessment processes.
About You
We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic, motivated, and eager to develop a career in environmental planning and approvals.
You will ideally have:
- A recently completed (or near-completed) degree in Town Planning, Urban and Regional Planning, Environmental Planning, or a related discipline.
- A genuine interest in planning, environmental approvals, impact assessment, and sustainable development.
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- The ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- A collaborative approach and willingness to learn from experienced professionals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Previous internship, university project, consulting, property, government, or infrastructure experience is advantageous but not essential.
