With a strong pipeline of upcoming projects, Fyfe is expanding its Power & Electrification capability and is seeking a highly experienced Principal Engineer – Primary & Earthing to play a key leadership role in shaping and delivering high-quality technical outcomes.
The Opportunity
This is a senior leadership position suited to an engineer who combines deep technical expertise with the ability to lead, mentor, and grow our junior engineers.
You will be instrumental in delivering complex substation projects, advancing technical standards, and supporting the continued growth of our sustainable energy portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of high-voltage substation primary systems, from concept through to detailed design
- Mentor a team of engineers, fostering capability development and technical excellence
- Oversee project delivery to ensure outcomes meet quality, safety, cost, and schedule requirements
- Apply advanced engineering principles to solve complex problems and deliver innovative, fit-for-purpose solutions
- Contribute to the development of best practices, standards, and technical frameworks within the business
- Engage with clients and stakeholders, providing trusted technical advice and leadership
Requirements
- Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical or equivalent)
- Extensive experience in high-voltage substation primary design
- Strong expertise in earthing design (highly regarded)
- Proven track record in technical leadership and project delivery
- Ability to operate at a strategic level while remaining hands-on technically
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence clients and stakeholders
