About the role
Opportunity for a Future Energy Lead South Australia & Victoria to join our growing energy team in Adelaide, Perth, Melbourne or Brisbane. The role will be working alongside the Future Energy Solutions team, focused on the development, delivery and connection of utility scale power generating assets, both conventional and renewable technology, for our key client, on projects across Australia. The role will also look at detailed engineering projects with network service providers (NSP) in connection assets and substation design (primary, secondary and automation). Note that Fyfe operates across all states and territories in Australia and the role therefore has a national footprint
Our Energy and Resources Division works with major energy developers, network service providers and solution providers to deliver energy projects across the country. These include:
- Utility scale energy generating facilities (gas, coal, hydrogen, solar, wind and BESS);
- Network modelling related to generator connections, curtailment analysis, MLF assessment.
- Transmission and Distribution Network Substations and switchyards;
- Decarbonisation Projects, Studies, Initiatives and Strategies;
The role is offered on a full-time basis.
Skills & experience
We are looking for a qualified Future Energy Lead SA/ VIC, with greater than 10 years' experience in energy projects with at least 5 years in the development and delivery of utility scale power generation projects.
The individual selected for the role will:
- Lead the engagement with key clients across South Australia and Victoria which includes the development of opportunities
- Manage the development of specific project related design deliverables i.e. single line diagrams, , protection studies, earthing reports, harmonics assessments, load flows and similar concept and detailed design deliverables;
- Manage the development of construction work packs, scopes of work and related deliverables and support the procurement processes for equipment and services;
- Review of detailed design documents prepared by subcontractors and equipment suppliers for completeness and compliance to Australian Standards;
- Lead the preparation and submission of generator connection documentation to the NSP and AEMO for renewable and conventional energy plant. This includes management of a modelling consultant/ partner;
- Actively participate and engage with clients and support the delivery of projects, where required;
- Partake in various aspects of project delivery and construction management;
- If required, provide site-based support for projects across Australia (certain amount of travel is expected);
Requirements:
- Must have tertiary qualifications in Engineering that is recognised in Australia, preferably with Chartered Engineer status;
- Has led the development and delivery of NEM connected power generation projects in Australia;
- Has worked in NSP organisations or has experience delivering technical requirements for NSPs;
- Has experience in the process of generator connection in the NEM for either renewable or conventional projects;
- Sound understanding of Australian industry codes and standards in particular the National Electricity Rules (NER);
- Experience in leading a team that manages details design and execution of power generation projects;
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills;
- Strong commitment to client satisfaction;
- A high commitment to work place health and safety and the use of safe work systems;
