About the role
Our workforce is a combination of office and field-based staff working in metropolitan and regional sites across Australia. As the Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) Advisor, you will be responsible for implementing and managing the Company's WH&S, Environment and Quality Management Systems.
This largely autonomous role demands extensive knowledge of Management Systems development and implementation and a pragmatic approach to its application.
As the HSEQ Advisor, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Australian health and safety regulations, implementing best practices, and promoting a strong safety culture. You will collaborate closely with management and operational teams to develop and maintain industry-leading HSEQ standards. Furthermore, you will investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe working conditions, report identified hazards, and develop risk control measures.
This role is mainly office-based, with some site visits for auditing and inspections.
Skills & experience
- A formal qualification in Occupational Health and Safety
- Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation, environmental standards, and ISO frameworks
- Strong understanding and capability in hazard identification, risk assessment and controls
- Experience in conducting Incident/non-conformance investigations and implementing corrective actions
- Internal Auditor qualification
- Experience in leading HSE initiatives to establish and maintain robust safety practices
- Ability to train workers and promote a proactive safety culture across the organisation
- Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator experience
- High level of Microsoft Office suite of products, including SharePoint
- Ability to travel interstate or to a site at short notice or as required
