About the job Electrical Technical Lead -Renewable Power Generation
Fyfe's Energy and Resources Group works with major Australian clients to deliver specialist oil and gas, mining, future fuels and renewable power generation and storage projects across the country. These include pipelines, processing facilities, conventional and renewable power generation facilities, battery storage, as well as maintenance and construction related work programs.
The Opportunity:
As the Electrical Technical Lead for Renewable Power Generation, become a key contributor to Fyfe's growth plans for renewable energy developments in Australia. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in concept and detailed design, for wind energy, solar and battery storage projects, including power systems modelling, construction and commissioning support, and NEM compliance to drive innovative solutions for our clients.
Our Energy and Resources Division works with major energy developers, network service providers and solution providers to deliver energy projects across the country. These include:
- Utility scale energy generating facilities (gas, hydrogen, solar, wind and BESS)
- Transmission and Distribution Network Substations and switchyards
- Decarbonisation Projects, Studies, Initiatives and Strategies
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Support the engagement with key clients across Australia and the development of opportunities.
- Provide technical design expertise and sign-off for wind farm electrical design, battery storage electrical design, RMUs, Transformers, MV and LV Switchboards, Solar PV and grid connections.
- Manage the development of specific project related design deliverables i.e. single line diagrams, high voltage reticulation design, protection studies, earthing reports, harmonics assessments, load flows etc.
- Review of detailed design documents prepared by equipment suppliers for completeness and compliance to Australian Standards.
- Partake in various aspects of project delivery, construction and commissioning management.
- Manage and mentor junior engineers undertaking design deliverables.
- If required, provide site-based support for projects across Australia (certain amount of travel may be required).
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Demonstrated design experience in the renewable energy power generation industry in Australia.
- Sound understanding of Australian industry codes and standards in particular the National Electricity Rules (NER).
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with ability to effectively negotiate with internal and external stakeholders.
