Civil Engineer

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Civil Engineer to join our Civil team in Darwin.

This is an opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of civil projects, collaborating with clients and Fyfe's national multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, commercially pragmatic engineering solutions.

You will be responsible for delivering the technical aspects of civil engineering projects, with the opportunity to work across assignments of varying complexity.

Key responsibilities

• Produce civil engineering drawings and designs, including stormwater drainage and erosion control.
• Design crossings for waterways, pipelines, rail and roads.
• Prepare civil construction scopes of work.
• Develop concept, feasibility and detailed design documentation and coordinate relevant reviews and approvals.
• Ensure engineering designs comply with relevant Australian Standards, guides, codes and industry best practice.
• Contribute to project specifications, scopes of work, services reviews and opinions of probable cost.
• Determine construction methods, materials and quality standards.
• Prepare and interpret specifications, drawings, plans, construction methods and procedures.
• Undertake site inspections with clients, contractors, councils and regulatory authorities as required.

About you

• Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering.
• RPEQ accreditation or a willingness to work towards accreditation is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical and technical report writing skills.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex design requirements.
• The ability to manage competing project priorities and deliver within agreed timeframes and quality standards.
• Proficiency in relevant civil engineering software.

You will also bring strong interpersonal and written communication skills, a commitment to client satisfaction and quality, and the ability to work effectively across multiple projects and competing deadlines.
