About the opportunity
Our Heritage team is expanding as we support a significant pipeline of infrastructure projects across Queensland's Central & North Coast region. These projects support major infrastructure development across the region while ensuring Aboriginal and historical cultural heritage values are carefully managed.
We are looking for Cultural Heritage Officers to join our collaborative and growing team. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced heritage professionals, Traditional Owners, and multidisciplinary project teams to deliver meaningful cultural heritage outcomes.
You'll contribute to a program of works that combines field investigations, stakeholder engagement, and heritage management planning across a diverse and culturally significant landscape.
What you'll be doing
- Participating in site inspections, field surveys, and cultural heritage investigations
- Supporting archaeological survey programs, excavation activities, and salvage works
- Undertaking site recording and documentation to a high professional standard
- Assisting with analysis of field data and preparation of technical reports
- Supporting the preparation of proposals, tenders, and heritage management documentation
- Working closely with Traditional Owner groups and community representatives
- Liaising with project teams, government agencies, and other stakeholders
- Contributing to the development of cultural heritage management strategies across active infrastructure projects
This position offers a balanced mix of office-based reporting and hands-on fieldwork, giving you the opportunity to build strong technical experience.
About you
You're a motivated heritage professional who enjoys working both independently and as part of a collaborative team. You value respectful engagement with Traditional Owners and take pride in producing high-quality heritage outcomes.
You will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Archaeology, Cultural Heritage Management, or a related discipline
- Experience working in Aboriginal cultural heritage consulting or heritage management
- Demonstrated experience in community engagement with Aboriginal groups
- Strong field survey and site recording skills
- Excellent research, analysis, and report writing abilities
- The ability to work in the field and adapt to varying project environments
- A proactive approach and willingness to contribute to a growing team
