About the role

As a Survey Drafter, you will play an important role in supporting the delivery of survey projects across the Northern Territory and broader Fyfe business. You'll work closely with surveyors, project managers, field crews and technical specialists to turn survey data, field information and project requirements into accurate, high-quality plans and digital deliverables.

Key responsibilities

  • Preparing accurate survey drawings and digital deliverables from field survey data, calculations, sketches, title information and design files.
  • Preparing detail and feature survey plans, control plans, as-constructed plans, lease and licence plans and other survey deliverables.
  • Supporting cadastral drafting, including subdivision plans, boundary re-establishment plans, plans of division and easement documentation.
  • Preparing drawings and plans for defence, infrastructure, energy and resources and general survey projects.
  • Working with surveyors and project teams to interpret field information and produce clear, accurate and practical drafting outputs.
  • Managing multiple drafting priorities while meeting project deadlines and maintaining a high standard of accuracy.
  • Applying client-specific drawing standards, document control requirements and project specifications.
  • Reviewing drawings for accuracy, completeness, presentation, dimensions, annotations, coordinates and consistency with source information.
  • Maintaining drawing registers, templates, blocks, layers and other drafting resources.
  • Supporting digital submission packages, technical reviews and project documentation.

About you

  • Previous experience in survey drafting, cadastral drafting or technical drafting within a surveying, engineering or infrastructure environment.
  • A sound understanding of survey plan drafting principles and the presentation of survey and field data.
  • Experience preparing a range of survey plans and technical drafting deliverables.
  • Strong AutoCAD skills, with experience in Civil 3D, 12D, LISCAD or similar survey drafting platforms highly regarded.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A collaborative, practical and solutions-focused approach.
  • The ability to work effectively with surveyors, project managers, field crews and other technical teams.

This role can be based in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide or Brisbane and will support our Northern Territory Survey team.
