In this key leadership role, you will be responsible for financial planning, reporting, cash flow management, internal controls, compliance, and leading the finance team to ensure the financial health and profitability of the hotel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Budgeting and Financial Planning:

    • Collaborate with the General Manager and department heads to prepare the annual hotel budget.
    • Monitor hotel revenues and expenses, ensuring accurate financial forecasting.
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis:

    • Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
    • Analyze financial data and provide insights to management for informed decision-making.
    • Oversee a team of finance executives handling all accounting functions.
  • Cash Flow Management:

    • Monitor the property's cash flow to ensure sufficient funds for ongoing operational expenses.
  • Internal Controls and Compliance:

    • Develop and maintain robust internal control systems to safeguard assets.
    • Ensure compliance with internal policies, legislative requirements, and regulations.
    • Coordinate with internal and external auditors, ensuring all contracts comply with group and legislative standards.
  • Payroll Management:

    • Review monthly payroll processed by outsourced agencies, ensuring timely and accurate payment to employees.
  • Profitability and Performance Optimization:

    • Regularly review financial performance, identify opportunities to increase revenue, and enhance overall profitability.
  • Leadership and Team Development:

    • Lead, manage, and mentor the finance team, conducting regular performance reviews and training initiatives.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the finance department.
  • Vendor and Stakeholder Management:

    • Manage relationships with vendors, ensuring timely payment for purchases and receipt of goods.
    • Evaluate and address financial risks associated with hotel operations.
    • Provide regular financial updates to hotel owners, management, and other key stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a similar financial leadership role within the hospitality industry.
  • Strong knowledge of hotel accounting software (e.g., Sun Accounting System) and related systems (e.g., Operate Cloud, POS).
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop finance team members.
