We are seeking a highly skilled and results-oriented Legal Manager for our Legal department, reporting directly to the Head of Legal. This pivotal, hands-on generalist role will oversee critical legal operations within the fast-evolving and highly regulated iGaming industry. The successful candidate will drive operational efficiency, mitigate risks, and provide strategic legal counsel, ensuring compliance and enabling the company's expansion and market consolidation through proactive and collaborative legal support.
As a Legal Manager at our company, we expect you to be responsible for:
- Litigation & Disputes Management:
- Lead strategic management of judicial and administrative litigation, focusing on complex consumer, civil, and regulatory cases.
- Oversee external counsel, ensuring efficient case management, adherence to timelines, and cost-effectiveness.
- Monitor litigation KPIs and prepare comprehensive reports for stakeholders.
- Coordinate communications with authorities, supporting the Head of Legal in key interactions.
- Contracts & Commercial Advisory:
- Manage the full lifecycle of a high volume of commercial agreements, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating (e.g., marketing, vendor, tech, payment, digital sector contracts).
- Provide clear, pragmatic, and business-oriented legal guidance to internal teams, balancing commercial goals with risk mitigation.
- Regulatory & Compliance Oversight:
- Proactively monitor and interpret regulatory developments in the Brazilian iGaming sector, assessing strategic impacts.
- Support licensing obligations and ensure continuous alignment with sector requirements and evolving regulatory frameworks.
- Assist the Head of Legal in preparing for and executing interactions with regulatory bodies.
- Privacy & Data Protection Support:
- Support the Data Protection Officer (DPO) in achieving LGPD compliance.
- Contribute to privacy impact assessments, policy reviews, contractual assessments, and the ongoing enhancement of the company's privacy program.
- Legal Operations & Process Improvement:
- Champion initiatives to improve legal workflows, standardize templates, optimize SLAs, and reinforce internal governance.
- Enhance the overall efficiency, consistency, and quality of legal service delivery, enabling the legal function to support business growth.
Required skills
Education & Certifications:
Mandatory: Bachelor's Degree in Law and active OAB registration.
- Differentiator: Postgraduate degree or specialization in Digital Law, Technology, Compliance, Data Protection (LGPD/GDPR), Corporate Law, or Contracts.
Professional Experience:
- A minimum of 6 to 7 years of comprehensive legal experience, demonstrating a progressive career.
- Proven track record in litigation, contract law, commercial matters, regulatory compliance, and data privacy.
- Experience in fast-paced, highly regulated industries (iGaming, fintech, tech) is a strong differentiator.
- Demonstrated generalist and hands-on approach, navigating diverse legal topics and autonomously resolving complex issues.
Technical Skills & Knowledge:
- Mandatory: Advanced or Fluent English (both written and spoken).
- Proficiency in regulatory law, consumer law, and general advisory services.
Operational fluency with Google Workspace.
- Experience with legal project management, Legal Operations frameworks, agile methodologies, or tools like JIRA is a differentiator.
