About FuntoNetwork

At FuntoNetwork, we build technology solutions that are not only innovative but also scalable, secure, and elegantly designed. Our Mobile Architecture team defines the technical backbone for enterprise‑grade mobile applications across iOS, Android, and cross‑platform environments. We partner with product, UX, backend, and cloud teams to deliver seamless digital experiences. By combining architectural rigor with modern DevSecOps practices, we ensure that every mobile solution we architect is ready for scale, security, and continuous evolution.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Mobile Solution Architect to lead the design, architecture, and technical strategy of our enterprise mobile applications. In this role, you will define architectural standards, technical patterns, and governance models while guiding engineering teams through the entire development lifecycle. You will architect high‑performance, scalable, and secure mobile solutions across iOS, Android, and cross‑platform environments—ensuring seamless integration with backend systems, cloud services, and enterprise security frameworks.

The ideal candidate possesses deep hands‑on expertise in native and cross‑platform mobile technologies, a strong command of cloud and API architecture, and a proven track record of driving mobile DevSecOps adoption. You will serve as the bridge between business stakeholders and engineering, translating complex requirements into elegant technical blueprints.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Technical Strategy

  • Architect, design, and guide the implementation of enterprise‑grade mobile solutions across iOS, Android, and cross‑platform frameworks (React Native, Flutter).
  • Define and enforce mobile architecture standards, technical patterns, reusable component libraries, and governance models.
  • Create comprehensive architectural diagrams, integration patterns, solution blueprints, and technical design documents.
  • Conduct architecture reviews, feasibility assessments, and technical risk analysis; provide hands‑on technical leadership during development sprints.

Integration & Backend Systems

  • Oversee API design and mobile‑backend integration strategies, including RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
  • Architect authentication and authorization flows (OAuth, SSO, certificate pinning) and secure cloud/mobile service interactions.
  • Collaborate with backend and cloud engineering teams to design scalable, resilient mobile backend services on AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Security, Compliance & Enterprise Standards

  • Ensure all mobile solutions meet enterprise requirements for scalability, security, compliance, and performance.
  • Implement and enforce enterprise‑grade mobile security standards, including encryption, secure data storage, application lifecycle management, and MDM/MAM integration.

DevSecOps & Automation

  • Drive adoption of mobile DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD pipeline automation, automated testing frameworks, code quality standards, and performance monitoring.
  • Champion continuous integration and delivery workflows to accelerate release cycles while maintaining stability and quality.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with product owners, UI/UX teams, backend engineers, DevOps, and enterprise architects to align technical solutions with business and product goals.
  • Participate in discovery sessions, effort estimation, roadmap planning, and technical stakeholder communications.
  • Translate business requirements into architectural solutions and articulate trade‑offs to both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Mentorship & Technical Leadership

  • Guide and mentor engineering teams on best practices in mobile frameworks, cloud services, modular design, and the full development lifecycle.
  • Evangelize modern mobile architecture patterns, clean code principles, and emerging technologies across the organization.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Experience

  • 7+ years of experience as a Mobile Solution Architect or equivalent senior technical leadership role.

Mobile Architecture & Design Patterns

  • Deep, demonstrable understanding of mobile design and architecture patterns: MVVM, MVP, Clean Architecture, modular component design, and scalable system integration.
  • Proven ability to architect complex, enterprise‑scale mobile applications from the ground up.

Native & Cross‑Platform Development

  • Hands‑on, production‑level proficiency with Swift, Objective‑C, Kotlin, and Java for native iOS and Android development.
  • Extensive experience with cross‑platform frameworks such as React Native or Flutter—including architectural considerations, performance optimization, and bridge/module development.

API & Backend Integration

  • Proven experience architecting and integrating mobile applications with RESTful and GraphQL APIs, cloud services, and backend systems.
  • Strong understanding of API design principles, versioning, caching, offline sync strategies, and error handling.

Cloud & Mobile Backend Platforms

  • Deep familiarity with mobile backend platforms and cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP)—including but not limited to AWS Amplify, Azure Mobile Apps, Firebase, or similar.
  • Experience architecting cloud‑native mobile solutions leveraging serverless, microservices, and containerized backends.

Enterprise Mobile Security

  • Comprehensive knowledge of enterprise‑grade mobile security standards, including data encryption at rest and in transit, certificate pinning, secure authentication (OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, SSO), and runtime application self‑protection (RASP).
  • Familiarity with MDM/MAM tools, mobile application lifecycle management, and compliance frameworks (HIPAA, GDPR, SOC2).

DevSecOps, CI/CD & Automation

  • Proven experience with mobile DevSecOps, including designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Bitrise, CircleCI, Azure DevOps).
  • Hands‑on experience with automated testing frameworks (XCTest, Espresso, Detox, Appium) and performance monitoring tools (Crashlytics, New Relic, Datadog).
  • Strong understanding of code quality automation, static analysis, and dependency management.

Agile & Collaboration

  • 7+ years of experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments with cross‑functional, distributed teams.
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex business requirements into clear, actionable architectural solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience architecting mobile solutions leveraging AI/ML‑powered testing, analytics, or intelligent automation.
  • Hands‑on experience with GraphQL and modern API gateways (Apollo, AWS AppSync).
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and microservices architecture in mobile backend contexts.
  • Experience with offline‑first architecture, real‑time synchronization, and conflict resolution strategies.
  • Contributions to open‑source mobile projects or technical blogs/public speaking engagements.
  • Relevant certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Professional Mobile Developer, TOGAF, or equivalent.

Education

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field preferred. Equivalent practical experience will be considered.

Application Process

We are looking for a strategic, hands‑on architect who can shape the future of our mobile platforms while empowering engineering teams to deliver world‑class mobile experiences.

To apply, please submit:

  • Your updated resume, highlighting mobile architecture projects and technical leadership experience.
  • A brief cover note describing a complex enterprise mobile solution you architected—including challenges, architectural decisions, and business impact.
  • Links to your portfolio, GitHub, technical blog, or relevant open‑source contributions (optional but encouraged).

Selected candidates will be invited for an in‑person interview in Houston, TX, and may be asked to complete a whiteboarding session or architectural case study assessment.
