Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced ICT Support Officer to provide frontline ICT support services within a government environment. The successful candidate will deliver responsive technical support, resolve ICT issues, maintain service records, administer user systems and devices, and contribute to ICT projects and operational activities.

This role is part of a collaborative ICT team and requires a strong customer service mindset, sound troubleshooting skills, and experience supporting Microsoft on-premises and cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide ICT support for hardware, software, network, account, and device-related issues.
  • Triage, resolve, and escalate incidents and service requests in accordance with service levels.
  • Administer user accounts, systems, devices, software, and ICT asset records.
  • Support ICT upgrades, rollouts, testing, and implementation activities.
  • Develop and maintain ICT procedures, user guides, and knowledge articles.
  • Work with stakeholders, vendors, and service providers to support service delivery.
  • Identify recurring issues and contribute to service improvement initiatives.
  • Support cyber security controls, patching, access management, and incident reporting.
  • Maintain and support end-user and office ICT hardware in a fully onsite environment.

Essential Requirements

  • Current Baseline Security Clearance.
  • Experience providing ICT support within the Australian Public Service (APS).
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across Microsoft on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Ability to analyse technical issues, identify risks, and recommend practical solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes within deadlines.
  • Strong teamwork, professionalism, integrity, and adherence to ICT security and governance requirements.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with Active Directory (On-Premises) and Azure AD.
  • Knowledge and practical understanding of ITIL principles.
