Job Overview
In supporting the Agency's Canberra and Sydney's office relocations, a network engineer is required at each location for the new office IT infrastructure design, day-to-day administration, implementing and maintenance of the Agency's network infrastructure.
Responsibilities of this role include:
- Designing and implementing the IT network infrastructure for the Agencys new Canberra office.
- Installing and configuring network hardware, such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Monitoring and maintaining the network performance.
- Troubleshooting and resolving network issues and outages.
- Ensuing network security through firewalls, VPNs, and other protective measure.
- Ensuring network systems are up to date with the latest technologies and patches.
- Documenting and maintaining network diagrams, configurations and documentation.
- Providing network support to users experiencing network-related issues.
- Ensuring that network operations comply with industry regulations and standards.
Technical skills
Advanced experience with Cisco Switches. At least 5 years work experience with IT infrastructure network such as IP network design, trouble shooting, Wi-Fi configuration, fibre and optics, switching and routing.
Below experience and qualifications are highly desirable:
- Previous experience in IT infrastructure network for office relocation.
- Tertiary qualification in Computer Science or Information Technology.
- Cisco certified Network Associate (CCNA).
- Cisco certified Network Professional
