About the Role
The Managed Security Operations Practice Lead
is responsible for overseeing and enhancing multiple managed security services, developing and executing strategies to optimise customer outcomes, driving customer growth, and supporting revenue generation. This leadership role plays a pivotal part in implementing strategic change, developing new customer relationships, and ensuring the retention of existing customers. The role involves managing multiple team leaders responsible for various operational aspects to ensure seamless security service delivery and fostering a culture of excellence. This role reports into the Head of Fujitsu Cyber.
The candidate must be based in New Zealand for this role.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Strategy and Leadership
- Shape the future strategy and direction for internal cybersecurity capabilities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with employees and clients to meet cybersecurity objectives and align with broader business strategies.
- Work closely with the Fujitsu Cyber leadership team to meet privacy, security, compliance, and financial objectives, fostering a collaborative environment.
- Lead comprehensive training initiatives and internal support for staff development, focusing on continuous learning and growth.
- Enhance the customer journey to improve conversion rates, retention, and maximize customer lifetime value through tailored solutions and service excellence.
- Establish and track KPIs and metrics to measure the effectiveness of growth initiatives.
- Manage budgets, forecasts, and performance reports to ensure efficient resource allocation and maximize ROI.
- Provide oversight and management of the SOC team, ensuring operational excellence.
- Support the strategic expansion of cybersecurity capabilities across the Oceania region and promote diversity and inclusion.
Business Development/Growth Enablement
- Work with internal stakeholders to grow business within existing customers and target new ones, aligning strategies with organizational goals.
- Proactively pursue new business opportunities through engagement, follow-up, and outreach efforts.
- Monitor market trends and assess client readiness to deliver mature services that focus on outcomes.
- Drive revenue growth by developing effective sales strategies and improving customer satisfaction.
- Lead the strategic expansion of Managed Security Services into Australia and other Oceania jurisdictions.
- Develop customer-centric solutions and build relationships to enhance loyalty and retention.
- Position the organization as a thought leader in the cybersecurity industry.
- Foster strategic partnerships with vendors and other stakeholders to expand service offerings and market reach.
- Establish KPIs to measure growth initiatives effectiveness, including customer acquisition rates and revenue growth.
Technical Responsibilities
- Manage the delivery of security services through continuous monitoring activities and ensure services meet industry best practices.
- Provide technical leadership for the Fujitsu SOC, ensuring services align with SLAs and other contractual requirements.
- Prioritize and deliver SOC capabilities to meet business objectives and customer needs.
- Ensure the SOC has necessary systems and technologies to provide high-level service.
- Oversee documentation of SOPs, processes, and standards for SOC activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Lead service risk assessments and productivity improvements to optimize operations and enhance profitability.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the SOC and stay ahead of emerging threats.
- Manage operational areas within budgetary constraints, ensuring fiscal responsibility.
- Perform capacity planning across people, processes, and technology to meet future demands.
- Identify service uplift opportunities and develop business plans for MSS projects.
- Assist with pre-sales and post-sales customer meetings to ensure seamless customer engagement.
- Stay informed on emerging cybersecurity technologies and integrate them into operations.
Requirements and Experience
Mandatory Qualifications
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CISM (Certified Information Security Manager), or equivalent are highly preferred.
Mandatory Experience
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a cybersecurity or managed security operations environment, with a track record of successful team management and strategic planning.
- Strong background in cybersecurity principles, technologies, and practices, with expertise in threat intelligence, incident response, and security monitoring.
- Demonstrated ability to drive business growth, manage revenue streams, and develop effective business strategies.
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in cybersecurity operations, including ISO 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and other relevant frameworks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to adapt to changing cybersecurity landscapes, technologies, and business environments.
Desired Experience & Knowledge / Other Relevant Information
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Advanced degrees like an MBA or Master's in Cybersecurity are advantageous.
