Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the development of innovative software solutions, mentoring junior developers, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of software applications and systems.
  • Architect and maintain scalable, efficient, and secure codebases.
  • Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and deliverables.
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation within the team.
  • Contribute to project planning, estimation, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure timely delivery of projects while maintaining high-quality standards.

Criterion Selection:

  • Minimum 10 years of technical lead developer experience, working for medium to large government or commercial organisations with software design patterns, development standards, and application frameworks.
  • Experience with booking, appointment management and CRM systems.
  • Experience in designing, developing and implementing solutions using Microsoft .NET.
  • Hands-on development experience with a wide range of technologies and application designs, in particular .NET 1.1, 2.0, 3.0, 3.5, 4.x, .Net Core 1.x, 2.x and 3.x development (C# mandatory), Microsoft Enterprise Library frameworks (or equivalent) and Windows Communication Foundation (WCF). 
  • Hands-on experience developing web application using modern web technologies such as HTML5, JavaScript, CSS and modern JavaScript frameworks such as Angular JS, Angular and React.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Azure cloud services, in particular Azure PaaS services (Web, API and Functions App, Azure SQL database etc.)
  • Experience in evaluating stakeholder requirements and develop and present solution options to senior management and various stakeholders.
  • Experience in guiding developers through technical challenges and peer review.
  • Solid knowledge of ICT architecture best practice and current and emerging industry trends.
  • Experience within the Australian Health sector including Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or other hospital or booking systems, My Health Record, and/or the Australian National Healthcare Interoperability Plan.
  • Experience within the Department of Health and the DSP (Digital Service Platform).
