ABOUT THE ROLE
The Azure Specialist will leverage significant consulting and technology expertise in the Microsoft Azure platform across domains including networking, identity, security, IaaS computing, and governance. The role involves designing and delivering a high-profile, mission-critical solution while engaging with clients, team members, and the extended Fujitsu project team to ensure success.
This is a contract engagement for 10 months (with the possibility of extension). The role reports to the Managing Architect and is based in Burwood, VIC, requiring 5 days in the office initially, with a potential hybrid model later.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Lead the design and development of an Azure platform solution for a mission-critical workload.
- Facilitate discovery workshops to gather client requirements and design input.
- Develop Azure Bicep infrastructure-as-code (IaC) assets to automate Azure resource deployment.
- Prepare Azure DevOps pipelines for automating Azure deployments.
- Develop or modify PowerShell scripts to augment Bicep code and support platform deployment.
- Use Azure DevOps repos during the development of IaC assets, scripts, and pipelines.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to gather information, communicate progress, and manage expectations.
- Work closely with the Azure Solution Architect, Azure DevOps Specialist, and Azure Solution Engineer to design solutions and manage workloads.
- Ensure the Azure platform design supports deployment and operational needs.
- Create high-standard design documentation, operational procedures, and transition materials.
- Manage project tasks according to schedule, escalating risks and issues as needed.
- Validate solution artifacts, including Bicep, scripts, and pipelines, through formal testing.
REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE
Technical Expertise:
- Specialist knowledge of the Microsoft Azure platform.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure infrastructure resources, including compute, networking, storage, security, and governance controls.
- Proficiency in networking technologies such as IP network design, routing, and hybrid networking with Azure ExpressRoute.
- Hands-on expertise with Azure Bicep, PowerShell, Azure Repos, and Azure Pipelines.
Experience:
- 6-10 years of experience in IT, systems integration consulting, and design with a relevant tertiary qualification.
- 5+ years of consulting delivery experience and leading enterprise-scale Azure solutions.
- Experience delivering projects within defined scopes and schedules.
- Broad understanding of software development, release processes, and operational frameworks.
