About the Role
We are seeking a Team Lead for our Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) team. This role provides advanced technical leadership within the team, bridging the gap between frontline analysts and supporting the contract for the Practice Lead.
The Team Lead will take ownership of complex issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution, while also mentoring and enabling analysts to grow their technical capability within the team.
Candidates who have progressed through hands-on technical roles and developed into senior positions where they have been accountable as the final escalation point and where the buck stops, will be highly regarded. This background demonstrates the resilience, accountability, and focus required to succeed in this role.
This role is on-site working from the customers office and is based in Canberra. Australian Citizenship is mandatory. Current or reinstatable AGSVA Baseline Security clearance or ability to obtain.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary Level 2/3 technical escalation point, leading the resolution of complex incidents, problems, and changes.
- Provide technical leadership across CAD applications, integrations, and supporting infrastructure.
- Ensure service delivery meets SLAs, quality standards, and change control requirements.
- Mentor and develop analysts, reviewing technical work and lifting overall team capability.
- Drive continuous improvement through proactive issue identification and technical optimisation.
- Work closely with the Practice Lead to manage risk, align technical delivery, and support customer outcomes.
Requirements and Experience
- Customer-facing technical service delivery experience with strong application support capability.
- Windows Server administration (2012 R2–2022), including IIS, SQL, SSL and application/configuration management.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with solid networking, UTM/endpoint knowledge and diagnostic tool use (e.g. Wireshark).
- Vendor management experience with effective negotiation skills.
- Incident and change management experience, with strong communication and coordination in fast-paced environments.
- Experience in emergency services or CAD environments desirable; Australian Citizenship required and AGSVA Baseline clearance (or ability to obtain) preferred.
