Known for their innovative solutions and customer-first approach, they specialize in both air and ocean freight across global markets. As they continue to expand, they are seeking a skilled International Sales / Business Development Manager (BDM) to join their dynamic team and drive international growth.

About the Role:

The International Sales / Business Development Manager will play a critical role in driving the growth of the companys import/export (air/ocean) sales on a global scale. This position requires a strategic thinker and a strong closer who can identify opportunities, foster client relationships, and consistently exceed revenue targets. Reporting to the Branch Manager and Vice President of Sales, the BDM will be responsible for achieving measurable results within an assigned geographical territory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities through market research, prospecting, and client visits.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships within the assigned territory.
  • Close new business deals and successfully onboard new clients.
  • Drive market share expansion to meet/exceed volume, revenue, and profit targets.
  • Maintain consistent communication with all clients to ensure exceptional satisfaction levels.
  • Address and resolve sales or delivery issues quickly and effectively.
  • Manage client relationships using established tools and systems to exceed targets.
  • Conduct weekly follow-ups with new clients post-first shipment to ensure ongoing satisfaction.
  • Work with the Pricing team to develop competitive pricing strategies and prepare rate quotes.
  • Monitor and maintain clients' credit lines per company guidelines.
  • Regularly update the CRM system with key client data and provide monthly budget reviews to management.
  • Ensure effective and timely communication of all client contracts to relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure all customer requests related to commercial activities are completed efficiently and at the highest service level.
  • Comply with client service level agreements and maintain professionalism in all client interactions, including participating in client entertainment activities when appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3+ years of international sales experience in freight forwarding (air/ocean).
  • Proven ability to grow sales and acquire new clients; an existing book of business is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable interacting with clients and internal teams.
  • Highly organized with strong time management capabilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and solid understanding of CRM systems.
  • Confidence and ability to bring in new clients; must not have any non-compete restrictions.
