The Dewatering Plant Metallurgist will be responsible for overseeing the dewatering process within a mineral processing plant. This role requires a skilled Data Analyst which would be responsible for analyzing and interpreting complex data to improve and optimize processes. Provide, review, and analyze production data in aspect dewatering concentrate, loading, equipment availability report and continuous improvement projects to achieve target production at optimum and efficient utilization of equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Analyze process data to identify areas for improvement and develop solutions to increase productivity and reduce costs.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on process issues and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Perform process trials and validation for new process modifications to improve the products.
  • Conduct field surveys and study maps, graphs, diagrams, and other data to identify and correct process problems.
  • In-depth knowledge of data analytic principles.
  • Strong analytical capabilities to identify and resolve process issues.
  • Utilize statistical analysis tools and software (e.g., SQL, Phyton, R) to analyze data and develop solutions.
  • Apply machine learning and predictive modelling techniques to optimize processes.
  • Use data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau. Power BI) to present findings and recommendations.
  • Managerial skills to coordinate projects and cross-section teams.
  • Generate and review technical reports, specifications, and data sheets to support operational plant.
  • Experience with managing and working with Engineering Consultants and Contractors
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with various levels of staff and management.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors degree in an appropriate Data Science / Statistic discipline with GPA 3.00
  • Have minimum of four (4) years related experience in engineering relevant to Data Analyst preferably in a Processing Industry. Desirable if it includes supervisory experience.
  • At least one year experience at Data Science / Analysis field
  • Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
  • Strong analytical capabilities to identify and resolve process issue, preferable with:
  • Experience with Minitab, Matlab, or other statistical analysis software.
  • Experience working with PI System for process monitoring and data analysis
  • Experience with Power BI
  • Experience working with design of experiments such as Anova, Taguchi, etc.
  • Lean Six Sigma would be advantageous.
  • Strong analytical thinking, communication, leadership skills
  • May be required to use the following mobile equipment: light duty vehicles
  • Fluent in english both spoken and written
  • Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions related to job assignments, job procedures given in English
