Basic Function:

Perform voice and data network activities for PTFI, providing other team within MIS with technical assistance to ensure maximum availability, reliability and security of PTFI network as part of the global FCX network. To ensure the network performs to a high standard in conjunction with the company's goals.

Job Responsibility:

  1. Monitor and control the usage of LAN and WAN 24/7 operations Network for internal and external to ensure the availability and its healthy condition.
  2. Maintain and operate the LAN and WAN 24/7 properly without any trouble to provide the services and highest possible up- time.
  3. Analyze the available network system and tools to monitor network system and to identify the potential problem.
  4. Identify and troubleshoot network problem to decide the solution for repairing / fixing the problem.
  5. Configure and maintain Cisco routing,switching, wireless and voice infrastructure to ensure seamless connectivity and in accordance with Department standards
  6. Make a monthly report on the downtime evaluation to identify the potential problems and solve them immediately.
  7. Support and monitor voice communication systems operations consisting of diverse networking hardware and software to a corporate standard for performance and reliability across multiple sites.
  8. Minimize the impact of changes on voice communication availability through the effective use of Departmental Change Management policies.
  9. Participate in research, planning, acquisitions, testing and implementation phase of assigned LAN/WAN related projects.
  10. Support and monitor Video Conferencing/Telepresence system to a corporate standard for performance and reliability
  11. Perform trouble shooting in coordination with related parties (Field Foreman, Helpdesk Support etc.) to identify root cause, resolve problems and prevent issues from reoccurring
  12. Produce voice, satellite, and wireless system documentation in accordance with Departmental standard.
  13. Maintain accurate network documentation and produce new documentation promptly upon request

The key challenges in this position include:

  • Gaining the information on the new system and new tools.
  • Must have a high self-motivation to learn about new technology.
  • Perform installations and maintenance of systems with limited manpower and resources across property.
  • Work as a part of the team in troubleshooting to resolve the problem and prevent issues from reoccurring.

The background, education, and work experience needed to succeed in this job are:

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor (S-1) degree in IT, Computer Science, Telecommunication, Electrical Engineering, and other related fields with minimum of 3 years experience in networking.
  • D3 in related field with 10 years in networking.

Core Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, & Characters)

  • CISCO Certification CCNA Certifications are highly desirable
  • Good communication Skill
  • Independent and self-motivated.
  • Strong knowledge of voice and data communication systems, satellite communication, network architecture and methodologies.

The key areas in which you have decision-making responsibility are:

  • Decide the priority of the job such as for Emergency/temporary fix for network problem the related to production.
