About the job Management Information System - Engineer, Network Engineering #1
We are looking for a dynamic network engineer to join MIS division in PT Freeport Indonesia. IT Network Infrastructure Site Support play a crucial role in our underground mining operations to ensure the IT network is reliable in supporting our mining operations. The main function of this role is to install, maintain, monitor, and control the components of network site facilities to ensure network reliability, and compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
Education & Experience
Education: A bachelors degree or experience diploma in electrical engineering, Telecommunications, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience: 5 years D3 with strong electrical background or 2 years S1 as a field service technician in network site facility maintenance
Competencies:
- Knowledge of two-way radio systems, telephony, COAX systems, fiber optics, data communications, DC/solar power systems, installation methodologies. Strong communication, project management, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in English (verbal and written). Achievement orientation, analytical thinking, safety/environmental concern, customer service orientation, cultural sensitivity, and team leadership.
- Minimum knowledge of safety practice and electrical industrial practice standard
Key Responsibilities
- Install and repair critical network components (environmental and mining sensors).
- Develop installation/configuration standards and maintenance procedures.
- Troubleshoot issues to collaborates with Network Field Operations and Wireless Infrastructure.
- Monitor and enforce safety standards and detect unsafe conditions.
- Maintain accurate documentation of systems/equipment.
- Coordinate project assignments and staffing for efficient resource allocation.
- Train and develop subordinates to enhance skills and capabilities.
- Monitor and control daily activities of subordinates to ensure service request completion.
- Facilitate communication within the team and with superiors/peers.
- Foster continuous improvement in work quality and efficiency.
- Supervise network maintenance activities on a 24-hour call-out basis.
- Monitor network site facility maintenance (e.g., UPS systems, communication tower equipment, DC power systems, electrical grounding, power generator switch, fire suppression systems).
