About the job Dewatering Plant - Engineer, Equipment Condition Mgt #1
Working in a newly created position, As an Equipment Condition Engineer, at a Concentrate Dewatering and Ship loading facility. You will become an expert in equipment including Concentrate Filtration equipment, Conveyors, pumps. Hydraulic systems, Compressed air systems.
you will be key in understanding the current equipment Health and Performance. You will be Key in Collating information and making recommendations to improve Equipment reliability, you will be Key in developing and prioritizing Equipment Life cycle plan.
Not an office job. You will need to commit to Field work to best understand analyze and evaluate equipment health and performance.
You will champion the Asset management plan.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- You will need to understand Mechanical systems, Rotating components, Hydraulic, understand of automation on Equipment.
- Proactive, Self-motivated, independent worker.
- You need understand the challenges of our Operational and by our Maintenance teams and how this effects Equipment health and performance.
- Using your skills to become an Equipment Expert.
- Be able to work with OEMs to discuss issues and make recommendations.
- Assist translating technical concepts to Action Teams
- Develop reports that convey issues and Resolutions
- Identify gaps within existing systems including Planning, Maintenance and operational activities.
- Evaluate breakdown or malfunctions and provide feedback on corrective actions for our current planning and Maintenance systems.
- Use SAP, Power BI and Honeywell to extract data.
- Review Condition Monitoring reports to identify opportunities to improve Equipment.
- Review Downtime data and make recommendations to improve Reliability.
- Review condition monitoring results to best optimize the Maintenance strategy to help extend component life and assist scheduling.
- Support Maintenance Planning and Engineering team
- Provide Coaching to Maintenance crews to transfer understanding of technical issues and why recommendations will assist in Equipment reliability and performance.
- Review Existing and develop SOPs to convey recommendations.
- Assists Operations and Maintenance departments with the implementation of new technology.
- Develop and Manage the Asset Management Plan.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in a Mechanical Engineering discipline with GPA 3.00
Have minimum of four (4) years related experience working as a Mechanical Engineer or Reliability Engineering roll.
- Strong knowledge of various types of Equipment
- Experience with Mechanical systems
- Experience with Hydraulics.
- Experience with Compressed air systems.
- Understanding Fluid Dynamics
- Experience working with Equipment Life Cycle
- Experience with Fault finding and trouble shooting.
- Experience with SAP or other CMMS
- Strong analytical thinking, communication, leadership skills
- Fluent in English both spoken and written.
- Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions related to job assignments, job procedures given in English
WORK CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in a Concentrate Dewatering and Ship loading Facility, with exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electric shock, toxic chemicals, fumes or airborne particles.
While performing duties of this job, the employee is required to Field work, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, see and work in confined spaces provide Coaching and supervision to Activities and holding meetings.
Occasionally, it may be required to lift moderately heavy to heavy objects (up to 20 kilos) during the workday.
Typically, a day shift position with occasional shift works as needed.
Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.
