The purpose of this position:
Technician Instrumentation and Control is vital for maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting Instrumentation and control systems. The main purpose of this positions is to ensure the reliability, safety, and efficiency of these systems, thus supporting uninterrupted smelting operations.
The key duties and responsibilities of this position:
- Provide technical support and fault diagnostics on Instrument and Control Equipment.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, install, calibrate, and function tested Instrument and Control equipment according to manufacturer's procedure.
- Diagnose instruments, identify faults, repair faults, and ensure the instruments operate as intended to maximize equipment availability
- Understand the types of defects and testing anomalies that can occur, how to identify them, and what action to take.
- Ensure all backlog equipment maintenance is completed according to team planning
- Responsible for performing corrective and preventive maintenance tasks for I&C equipment timely.
- Understand their responsibilities for ensuring the care and security of tools and equipment used.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships, communicate effectively, and work inclusively to deliver work within given specifications.
- Interpret and use appropriate industry codes, standards, and regulations (NEC, ISA, etc.).
- Demonstrate effective handover of responsibility and equipment at the end of a task.
- Perform standby duties when requested to ensure the plant and systems availability remains high.
- Monitor and witness contractor performance to minimize possibilities of rework and to ensure compliance with time and quality standards required by the client and the company.
- Raising working permit as part of complying with the Freeport working management system
- Raise work execution report and findings to the Instrument and Control Supervisor
- Perform housekeeping after job completion.
- Comply with all GOI and company safety and environmental policies associated with this job description
- Communicate and work with operators on system problems
- Perform other duties as needed.
The background, education, and work experience needed to succeed in this job are:
- S1 Degree in Instrumentation or Electronic Engineering with at least 3 years working experience preferably in mining industry or Technical High School Diploma (STM) in Instrumentation or Electronics Engineering with a minimum of 8 years of experience preferably in mining industry.
