The purpose of this position is:

  1. Overseeing industrial hygiene data systems and reporting frameworks, guaranteeing the integrity and precision of data. The ideal candidate will transform IH monitoring raw data into structured information, which will then be analyzed to glean insights that drive strategic business decisions.
  2. Assist Industrial hygiene officer to develop health risk assessment (HRA) document in PTFI workplace area.
  3. Conduct comprehensive worksite evaluations to identify potential health hazards, including exposure to hazardous chemicals, noise, vibration, biological agents, and physical hazards.
  4. Analyze and interpret data collected from monitoring activities and prepare detailed reports documenting findings and recommendations for corrective actions.
  5. Develop and implement comprehensive industrial hygiene programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and industry best practices.
  6. Provide information about training and educational programs to employees on various industrial hygiene topics, including hazard communication, respiratory protection, hearing conservation, and ergonomics.
  7. Stay up-to-date with new regulations, industry trends, and advancements in industrial hygiene practices, and recommend appropriate changes to existing programs and practices.
  8. Act as a resource and provide expert guidance to management, supervisors, and employees on matters related to industrial hygiene and occupational health.
  9. Collaborate with related stakeholders and participate in inspections and audits to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

The background, education, and work experience needed to succeed in this job are:

  1. Bachelors or master degree in Biostatistic, Public Health or Occupational Health & Safety with 3 years minimum experience as data analyst.
  2. Possess a solid foundation in statistics and practical experience with statistical software (such as Excel, SPSS, SAS) and mastery in data analysis languages including SQL, Python, and R.
  3. Demonstrate superior communication and presentation capabilities, adept at simplifying complex data insights for audiences without a technical background.
  4. Capable of critically evaluating data to derive meaningful, actionable insights.
  5. Certified Junior Industrial Hygienist (HIMA) from BNSP being advantageous.
  6. Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
  7. A deep understanding of the mining industry and business operations is a plus.
