We are seeking a dynamic IT OSS Leader to join the MIS division at PT Freeport Indonesia who has at least 5 years of experience in the infrastructure system and application support. This role is crucial in supporting our underground mining operations by preventing disruptions and maintaining productivity. The IT OSS will be the first layer support in mitigating issues and managing or preventing potential failures in operational systems and IT infrastructure underground. The ideal candidate should be well-versed in common system problems, capable of resolving and mitigating these issues, and adept at communicating with key stakeholders within the organization.
Work Roaster: 6 weeks onsite 2 weeks offsite
Education and Certification
Degree: A bachelors degree in electrical engineering, telecommunications, information Technology or a related field.

Problem-Solving: Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical skills for diagnosing and resolving issues, combined with a critical thinking and logical mindset.
Communication: Effective communication skills for managing the expectations of operations leaders and MIS key stakeholders, as well as effectively leading internal MIS teams in an organized manner.
Organizational Skills: Ability to manage project deliveries and maintain schedules efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:
- Diagnosing problems by do identification the root cause of hardware, software, and network issues.
- Implementing solutions by applying fixes with internal division technical expert (Servers, Network, Application, Radio, IT Deskside), whether through software patches, hardware replacements, or configuration changes.
- Good documentation by keeping detailed records of issues and solutions for future reference. The technical writing for team knowledge is a key success to sustaining the services. Creating user guides, FAQs, and other resources to help users navigate IT systems.
- Assisting operations and dispatch key users with day-to-day IT issues and questions.
- First Layer Support
- Control Room Support, to assist dispatchers and operators with troubleshooting users experiencing issues related to IT assets, IT infrastructure and Operations System.
- Mining IT infrastructure Support, to assist operations team and follow up whenever disruption in the underground mining production and development area, such as radio coverage or network disconnected.
- Proper ticket management by logging, tracking, and resolving support tickets in a timely manner.
- Escalating complex issues to higher-level support or technical expert in each area of MIS specialized teams.
- IT Assets management
- Control Room Inventory Management, maintain an accurate inventory of all IT assets, including desktops and peripherals, phone, radio, TV and other MIS assets services.
- Reporting & Inspection, generate regular reports on asset status, usage, and lifecycle to inform decision-making.
- Procurement, coordinate the stock order of new IT assets or replacement to meet organizational standards.
- Lifecycle Management, to oversee the entire lifecycle of IT assets from acquisition to disposal, ensuring optimal use for underground production and compliance with MIS global policies.
- Operations System Maintenance:
- Ensuring all systems are up to date with the latest software patches approved by policy.
- Performing routine checks and maintenance in the IT infrastructures and operations system to prevent potential issues.
- Continuously monitoring system performance to identify and address inefficiencies.
- Keeping an eye on network traffic and performance to ensure optimal operation.
Work Environment
This OSS leader often works in varied environments, including office settings, underground operations, field sites, and sometimes in challenging conditions. The job may require being on call to address urgent issues.
