Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Functional Payroll Consultant to support payroll system implementation, configuration, and process optimization for client environments. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in payroll processing and systems, with a deep understanding of statutory compliance and integrations with HR and finance modules.

Key Responsibilities

Gather and analyze business requirements related to payroll processing and compliance.

Configure payroll rules, pay components, pay groups, and calendars in alignment with organizational policies and statutory requirements.

Support end-to-end payroll operations including pre-payroll, payroll run, and post-payroll activities.

Collaborate with HR, Finance, and IT teams for accurate data flow between HRIS, time tracking, and payroll systems.

Perform functional testing and support UAT for payroll-related features and

enhancements.

Troubleshoot payroll discrepancies and resolve issues through root cause analysis.

Ensure compliance with applicable local labor laws, tax regulations, and audit controls.

Create and maintain functional documentation including configuration guides, SOPs, and test scripts

Required Skills

24 years of relevant functional experience in Payroll on platforms such as Workday,

SAP, Oracle HCM, ADP, UKG, or Ramco.

Strong knowledge of Indian payroll processing, tax computations, statutory deductions (PF, ESI, PT, LWF), and compliance reporting.

Experience in configuring pay elements, earnings, deductions, and retro calculations.

Understanding of integration points between payroll, time tracking, HR, and finance modules.

Ability to handle payroll reconciliations, audit queries, and statutory filings.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

independently.

Effective documentation and communication skills for stakeholder collaboration.

Detail-oriented with a strong sense of accuracy and responsibility in a dynamic client facing environment.

Workday Certification is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with global payroll or multi-country payroll implementations.

Exposure to payroll integrations with ERP or third-party vendors.

Experience with payroll compliance tools and reporting engines.

Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business, or a related field.
