ERISA Associate - Employee Benefits
Job Description:
A respected law firm is seeking a mid- to senior-level Employee Benefits Attorney to join its growing practice group. This position offers the flexibility to work from any office in New York, or possibly remotely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan Design and Compliance: Advise clients on the design, establishment, maintenance, and operation of various retirement, welfare, and fringe benefit plans.
- Regulatory Expertise: Provide guidance on ERISA compliance and other employee benefits laws and regulations, including the Internal Revenue Code, Affordable Care Act, and related state laws.
- Problem-Solving: Address complex benefits issues, such as plan corrections, fiduciary obligations, and audit resolution.
- Client Interaction: Work closely with clients to deliver tailored legal solutions and build long-term relationships through outstanding service.
- Collaboration: Partner with other attorneys to provide integrated legal support across practice areas, including corporate and tax law.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 4 to 10 years of experience in Employee Benefits law, with expertise in ERISA and other benefits-related legal frameworks.
- Technical Knowledge: Demonstrated familiarity with retirement and welfare plan design, compliance requirements, and regulatory issues.
- Skills: Excellent oral and written communication abilities, with strong analytical and drafting skills.
- Academic Background: A strong academic record from an accredited law school.
- Professionalism: Enthusiasm for client service, proactive problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Licensure: Admission to the applicable state bar or eligibility to obtain admission promptly.
