Location: San Francisco preferred (remote OK with monthly SF travel)
Compensation: $125,000 - $175,000 + significant equity
Visa Status: US Citizen or Green Card Holder
About the Role
We're partnering with a startup that is redefining one of the oldest professions.
They are hiring an AI Engineer who is equal parts builder and strategist, excited to work closely with customers, experiment with real-world applications of LLMs, and scale a platform from early traction to category-defining product.
What You'll Do:
- Build and scale LLM-powered workflows to deliver real-time insights for legal professionals.
- Work across the stack (90% TypeScript) integrating Redis, Postgres, and AWS services
- Design, test, and iterate on async workflows (e.g. using tools like XState)
- Collaborate with customers to gather feedback and tailor the platform to user needs
- Contribute to prompt engineering, experimentation frameworks, and internal tooling.
Help lead new product verticals and shape the platform's evolution.
Your Background:
- Strong engineering fundamentals and a passion for pragmatic problem-solving
- Proficiency with TypeScript (the vast majority of the codebase)
- Experience with backend systems: Redis, Postgres, AWS (PaaS)
- Familiarity with async workflows, LLM integration, or tools like XState (big plus)
- Excellent communicator and comfortable interfacing with customers.
- Startup-ready mindset: resourceful, curious, and collaborative.
