Overview

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst for Banking client to support banking transformation and system delivery initiatives. The ideal candidate must have strong domain knowledge in Core Banking, Lending, and Trade Finance, and be able to work closely with business users and technology teams to gather, analyse, and document business and functional requirements.

The Business Analyst will play a key role in translating banking business processes, rules, and operational needs into clear requirements and solution specifications for implementation.

Responsibilities

Requirements Gathering & Analysis

  • Conduct workshops, interviews, and requirement sessions with business stakeholders, operations teams, and IT teams
  • Analyse current-state banking processes, systems, pain points, and operational gaps
  • Gather, document, and validate business, functional, and non-functional requirements
  • Translate business requirements into BRD, FRD, user stories, process flows, use cases, and functional specifications

Banking Domain Analysis

  • Support requirement analysis for Core Banking processes such as customer onboarding, CASA accounts, deposits, transactions, balances, fees, payments, and product setup
  • Support requirement analysis for Lending processes such as loan origination, credit assessment, approval, disbursement, servicing, repayment schedules, delinquency handling, and collections
  • Support requirement analysis for Trade Finance processes such as letters of credit, guarantees, documentary collections, bill processing, import/export workflows, and settlement
  • Understand business rules, product configurations, transaction flows, interface requirements, and operational controls across banking systems

Solution Documentation & Coordination

  • Prepare business requirement documents, functional specifications, workflow diagrams, gap analysis, data mapping, interface requirements, and traceability matrices
  • Work closely with project managers, architects, developers, testers, and vendors to ensure business requirements are clearly understood
  • Support solution design discussions by clarifying business processes, decision rules, exception handling, and reporting needs
  • Ensure proper documentation of to-be processes and system behaviour

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as a bridge between business users and technical teams
  • Facilitate requirement walkthroughs, clarification meetings, impact discussions, and sign-off sessions
  • Coordinate across operations, credit, trade, compliance, risk, finance, and IT stakeholders where needed
  • Support alignment between business expectations and technical solution delivery

Testing & Implementation Support

  • Support SIT and UAT by preparing test scenarios, reviewing test coverage, and validating requirement traceability
  • Assist business users in validating delivered functionality against agreed requirements
  • Support deployment readiness, training materials, user guides, and post-go-live clarifications
  • Participate in defect triage and resolution discussions from a business perspective

Required Skills & Experience

  • 7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in banking technology or banking transformation projects
  • Strong banking domain knowledge in Core Banking, Lending, and Trade Finance
  • Experience in requirement elicitation, process mapping, functional analysis, and business documentation
  • Strong understanding of banking operations, workflows, and system interactions
  • Experience preparing BRD, FRD, user stories, use cases, workflows, and traceability matrices
  • Experience supporting SIT, UAT, and business validation
  • Good communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with banking product implementation, system migration, enhancement, or integration projects
  • Exposure to retail banking, corporate banking, operations, trade operations, or loan operations
  • Familiarity with APIs, host-to-host interfaces, data mapping, and workflow-driven systems
  • Knowledge of Agile / Scrum or structured SDLC delivery
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Visio, Excel, and PowerPoint
