About the job G23 - Business Analyst

Reporting to the Deputy Director, (Service Transformation and Planning), you will be the technical business analyst, as part of the product strategy team.

  • You will act as the bridge between business needs and technical implementation, focusing on product definition, feature design and implementation support.
  • You need to ensure digital solutions are feasible, scalable, make optimal use of best-in-class tools and common components, and are aligned with our agency's technical landscape and future plans.

As part of this role, you will:

  • Provide high-level technical assessment and recommendations on product strategy proposals, ensuring alignment with agency's business strategy and technical vision.
  • Translate business strategy into comprehensive technical requirements, including technical implementation strategy, feature specifications and acceptance criteria for implementation.
  • Act as the primary technical liaison between business teams and our tech partner, ensuring requirements are clearly documented, aligned to a modular approach, technically sound and effectively communicated.
  • Provide assessment on the technical implications of the requirements and communicate technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders in clear terms, e.g. on infrastructure architecture, system integration, and implementation approaches.
  • Assist in go-live preparation for new features, monitor feature performance and propose enhancements in subsequent iterations
  • Maintain comprehensive technical documentation throughout the product lifecycle
  • Stay current with emerging industry technologies and government technology standards, to provide informed and forward-looking recommendations.

Work Experience

At least 5-7 years of work experience as a Business Analyst with strong technical acumen:

  • Strong technical foundation with understanding of modern technology stacks and future trends
  • Experience in both strategic technical planning and detailed requirements analysis
  • Track record of providing technical advisory throughout the full product lifecycle
  • Knowledge of government IT systems, security standards, and technical constraints
  • Experience working with development vendors
  • Experience in technical solution validation and quality assurance
