About the Role
- We are seeking a skilled UI/UX Designer to lead the redesign of SLAs Intranet. The site will be revamped to make it a more useful platform for supporting the work of SLA staff.
- The designer will work with the project team to explore the current pain points and opportunities to improve and define a new approach and structure for a renewed intranet and then design the UX and UI of the site in line with the current and future needs of SLA.
- Strong skills in UX and UI combined with a proven ability to help shape functional web sites and applications as well as confidence in facilitating stakeholders will be required to succeed in the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan coordinate UX discovery activities, including conducting requirement workshops, user interviews, and usability testing.
- Design UI/UX for Power Apps, Power Pages, or SharePoint Online solutions.
- Analyse and translate business requirements into user flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes using tools such as Figma.
- Ensure designs follow usability best practices, accessibility standards, Microsoft design guidelines and in line with Government Digital Service Standards.
- Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure smooth implementation of UI elements and interaction patterns.
- Maintain design systems, component libraries, and UX documentation.
- Improve and optimize existing Power Platform or SharePoint experiences for usability and performance.
- Partner with product owners and product managers to deliver business outcome that meet business requirements, usability standards, and delivery timelines.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelors degree in UI/UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, graphic design, design research or a related discipline.
- 3-5 years of experience as a UX/UI Designer, Product Designer, or similar role.
- Strong proficiency in Figma (or Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, Miro) for
- wireframes, prototyping, component libraries, and design systems.
- Hands-on experience designing solutions for Microsoft Power Platform UI framework (Power Apps model-driven or canvas apps) and SharePoint Online modern sites.
- Good understanding of UX principles, responsive design, interaction design, and accessibility (WCAG).
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including project, development and business stakeholders.
- Good communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present findings
- and design rationale clearly through visuals and specifications.
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, iterative environment.
- Experience working on Public Sector projects will be an advantage.
