PowerBI Developer

Responsibilities:

1. Business Collaboration:
   • Work closely with the lead Business/Data Analyst to understand business requirements and deliver actionable insights.
   • Communicate effectively with internal technology and functional teams to translate business requirements into functional specifications.
2. BI Report Development:
   • Develop, update, and maintain BI reports and dashboards using Power BI.
   • Use Power BI Desktop to create dynamic dashboards, KPI scorecards, and visual reports.
3. Data Management and Analysis:
   • Manage, evaluate, and transform raw data into insightful information using visualization tools, DAX queries, and relationships.
   • Ensure data security through row-level security and understand Power BIs security models.
   • Design and map data models to support the creation of reports and dashboards.
4. Reporting and Decision Support:
   • Analyze business needs in the context of business intelligence and create reports that support corporate decision-making.
   • Understand financial terms and banking environments, where applicable, to ensure reports meet business needs.
5. Technical and Functional Expertise:
   • Design and develop data models and technical specifications for reporting applications.
   • Continuously improve and update existing business intelligence systems to meet evolving business needs.
6. Agile Development:
   • Perform effectively in an agile development environment, prioritizing continuous development and adapting to changing requirements.
7. Technical Tools and Frameworks:
   • Leverage tools like Power Query, MDX, Power BI, DAX, and SSRS for report generation and data analysis.
   • Familiar with working within the Microsoft Azure Fabric virtual PC environment and online tools.

Requirements:

1. Experience:
   • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Power BI development and design.
   • Proven experience in developing and maintaining business intelligence dashboards and reports.
   • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server BI Stack, including SSRS, TSQL, Power Query, MDX, PowerBI, and DAX.
2. Skills & Knowledge:
   • Strong understanding of database concepts (e.g., relational databases, multidimensional database design, etc.).
   • Familiarity with data lake, Datawarehouse, DBMS, OLAP, and ETL frameworks.
   • Knowledge of SSAS, SSRS, SQL, and SSIS is essential.
   • Experience in Python scripting is a plus.
3. Communication & Collaboration:
   • Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise between technical and business teams.
   • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
4. Educational Background:
   • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
   • An understanding of financial terms and/or previous experience in a Banking/Financial Institution (FI) environment is preferred.
5. Additional Skills:
   • Experience in designing data models that transform raw data into actionable insights.
   • Familiar with the Microsoft Azure Fabric virtual environment for Power BI development.
