Role Overview 

The Chief Architect is a senior leadership role responsible for defining and governing the overall technology and solution architecture strategy for FPT Thailand. This role ensures architectural excellence across delivery, pre-sales, and innovation initiatives, aligning technology solutions with client business objectives and FPT's regional growth strategy.

The Chief Architect will work closely with executive leadership, delivery heads, pre-sales teams, and client stakeholders to drive consistent, scalable, secure, and future-ready architectures across multiple industries, including Banking & Financial Services, Insurance, Public Sector, and Enterprise.

Responsibilities

Architect Strategy & Governance

  • Define and own the regional architecture of vision, principles, standards, and best practices.
  • Establish and govern architecture frameworks (enterprise, solution, application, data, cloud, and integration).
  • Ensure architectural consistency, scalability, security, and compliance across projects.
  • Chair or lead Architecture Review Boards (ARB) for key deals and deliveries.

Pre-Sales & Client Engagement

  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, translating business challenges into end-to-end technology architectures.
  • Lead architecture definition for complex and large-scale bids, RFPs, and strategic pursuits.
  • Support sales and pre-sales teams in solution positioning, estimations, and technical risk assessment.
  • Present architecture proposals to C-level and senior client stakeholders.

Delivery & Execution Excellence 

  • Partner with delivery teams to ensure architecture is practical, cost-effective, and deliverable.
  • Provide architectural oversight during solution design, build, and deployment phases.
  • Resolve complex technical issues and design trade-offs across programmes.
  • Ensure alignment between architecture design and delivery execution.

Technology Leadership & Innovation

  • Drive adoption of modern technologies including cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP), microservices, APIs, DevOps, data platforms, AI/ML, and application modernization.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and define reference architectures and accelerators.
  • Promote reuse of assets, frameworks, and platforms to improve delivery efficiency and quality.
  • Partner with global FPT teams to leverage group-wide capabilities and innovations.

People & Capabilities Development 

  • Build, mentor, and grow a strong community of architects across the region.
  • Define career paths, competency frameworks, and capability development plans for architects.
  • Lead architecture knowledge sharing, communities of practice, and technical governance forums.
  • Coach architects and senior technologists on stakeholder management and consultative skills.

Risk, Security & Compliance 

  • Ensure architectures adhere to security, regulatory, and compliance requirements relevant to client industries.
  • Work closely with security, risk, and compliance teams to embed secure-by-design principles.
  • Identify and mitigate architectural risks early in the solution of lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in IT, with significant experience in solution and enterprise architecture.
  • Proven track record leading architecture for large-scale, complex, multi-year programmes.
  • Strong experience across cloud, application architecture, integration, data, and security.
  • Demonstrated experience in pre-sales, bid management, and client-facing architecture roles.
  • Experience working across APAC markets and multicultural teams is highly desirable.

Technical Skills & Competencies

  • Enterprise and Solution Architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF).
  • Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
  • Application modernization, microservices, APIs, and event-driven architectures.
  • DevOps, CI/CD, and platform engineering concepts.
  • Data architecture, analytics platforms, and AI/ML foundations.
  • Strong understanding of security architecture and regulatory considerations.
