Job Openings U - Senior Frontend Engineer

About the job U - Senior Frontend Engineer

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Frontend Engineer to design, build, and optimize staff-facing web applications for our next-generation client engagement platform. In this role, you will lead the client-side architecture for Relationship Managers (RMs) and Back-Office Operations teams, enabling intuitive, high-performance web applications for complex case management, entity relationship mapping, and workflow management.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in React 19, TypeScript, lightweight frameworks (Preact), and integration with dynamic workflow modeler libraries (bpmn-js, dmn-js, forms-js). You will collaborate closely with UX/UI designers, backend microservice engineers, and solution architects to deliver seamless, responsive, and secure enterprise web interfaces.

Responsibilities

Frontend Architecture & UI Development

  • Client-Side Architecture: Lead the architecture and UI component design for multi-tab, dynamic form-filling portals using React 19.2.4, TypeScript, and modern state management patterns.
  • BPM Form Modeler Integration: Embed and extend client-side workflow modelers and form engines using bpmn-js, dmn-js, and forms-js to enable dynamic, business-rules-driven form rendering, task tracking, and process visualization.
  • Performance Optimization: Drive client-side performance, dynamic code-splitting, bundle size reduction, and render optimizations—utilizing lightweight libraries like Preact where low latency and lightweight foot-prints are required.
  • Workspace Staging & Draft Autosave: Implement resilient local storage, tab-by-tab form state caching, and progressive data-saving mechanisms to support staging workspace updates for unvalidated user drafts before final submission.

Integration & API Standards

  • Backend API Integration: Integrate frontend components with backend microservices via RESTful APIs and secure RPC endpoints, adhering to strict enterprise network proxy requirements (e.g., handling RPC-over-HTTP patterns).
  • Identity & Authentication: Implement front-end authentication flows relying on OAuth2 / OIDC (ADFS authentication) and JWT session management.
  • Form Validation & UX: Build multi-level validation rules (client-side immediate validation vs. server-side business rules) for complex wealth management onboarding forms, tax-residency disclosures (CRS/FATCA), and risk profiling tools.

Code Quality & Engineering Excellence

  • Design System & Reusable Components: Contribute to and maintain enterprise UI component libraries, enforcing consistent design patterns, accessibility compliance, and visual standards.
  • Testing & Quality Assurance: Drive shift-left testing practices on the front end using Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress / Playwright, and automated UI component testing.
  • CI/CD & Deployment: Work with DevOps to automate frontend build pipelines, static analysis, security scanning (Veracode/SonarQube), and containerized web server deployments onto Red Hat OpenShift.

Qualifications & Technical Requirements

Experience

  • Total Experience: 5–8+ years in frontend/web engineering with 2+ years in a senior or lead role building complex, data-dense enterprise web applications (financial services or banking preferred).
  • Core Technical Stack Proficiency
  • Core Web Stack: Mastery of React 19.x, TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3/SASS, and modern CSS-in-JS / utility-first frameworks.
  • Embedded BPM Tools: Hands-on experience integrating or customizing bpmn-js, dmn-js, and forms-js (or similar BPMN/DMN rendering frameworks).
  • Alternative Runtimes: Experience with Preact for lightweight, performance-critical components.
  • State Management & Routing: Deep understanding of state management libraries (Redux Toolkit, Zustand, React Query/TanStack Query) and React Router.
  • Build Tools & Bundlers: Hands-on experience with Vite, Webpack, Babel, ESLint, and npm/pnpm.
  • Testing: Proficiency with Jest, React Testing Library, Mock Service Worker (MSW), and E2E tools (Playwright/Cypress).

Preferred Banking Domain Experience

  • Wealth Management / Onboarding UI: Experience building forms, workflow dashboards, or document ingestion portals for High-Net-Worth (HNW) onboarding, entity structure visualization (Corporates, Trusts, SPVs), or Client-to-Client relationship mapping.
  • Dynamic Form Engines: Proven track record of building dynamic, metadata-driven form builders capable of rendering hundreds of conditional fields based on dynamic decision tables.
  • Compliance & Security Awareness: Familiarity with strict enterprise security guidelines, network proxy constraints, cross-site scripting (XSS) prevention, and secure token storage.

Soft Skills

  • UX/UI Collaboration: Ability to work side-by-side with UX designers to translate wireframes and design tokens into high-quality, pixel-perfect code.
  • Clear Communication: Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with backend developers, business analysts, and product owners.
  • Mentorship: Passionate about mentoring junior/mid-level frontend engineers and championing frontend best practices across squads.
