Role Overview
We are seeking a Webmaster to support website content management, SEO optimisation, and web analytics for a government digital platform. This role will focus on maintaining high-quality website content, improving search performance, and ensuring optimal user experience aligned with accessibility and performance standards.
The candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors to manage updates, implement SEO improvements, and monitor website performance.
Key Responsibilities
Content Management & Website Maintenance
- Provide continuous support for website content updates, publications, and document uploads (~60–80 requests per month)
- Ensure content accuracy, consistency, and alignment with organisational standards
- Maintain website structure and ensure smooth content publishing workflows
SEO & Performance Optimisation
- Implement search engine optimisation (SEO) improvements and fixes
- Configure and maintain web analytics tools and tracking mechanisms
- Optimise website performance, accessibility, and usability in line with WOGAA benchmarks
- Monitor and improve page performance metrics (e.g. load speed, SEO rankings, user engagement)
Web Analytics & Reporting
- Configure and manage Google Analytics (tags, parameters, tracking)
- Analyse website traffic, user behaviour, and performance trends
- Prepare and deliver monthly web analytics reports with actionable insights
Design & Technical Coordination
- Provide basic creative design support for website updates
- Collaborate with appointed external vendors on backend or technical issues
- Assist in troubleshooting website issues and coordinating resolutions
Requirements
Technical & Functional Skills
- Experience in website content management / webmaster role
- Strong understanding of SEO principles and best practices
- Hands-on experience with Google Analytics and web tracking tools
- Familiarity with HTML/CSS and basic web technologies
- Experience with CMS platforms (e.g. WordPress, Drupal, Sitecore or similar)
- Understanding of website performance, accessibility, and usability standards
Experience
- Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience in web content management / SEO / digital platforms
- Experience supporting high-traffic or enterprise websites preferred
- Experience working with government or regulated environments is a plus
Soft Skills
- Strong attention to detail and content accuracy
- Good communication skills to liaise with stakeholders and vendors
- Ability to manage multiple requests and prioritise effectively
- Proactive and solution-oriented mindset
