G06 - SAP Solution Architect

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced SAP Solution Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimisation of SAP solutions across our enterprise landscape. The successful candidate will possess deep expertise in both on-premises SAP systems and cloud-based SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), with strong technical capabilities in ABAP development and system architecture.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Design & Architecture

• Design comprehensive SAP solution architectures that align with business requirements and technical standards, ensuring scalability and performance across enterprise systems
• Design integration strategies between on-premises SAP systems and cloud platforms, creating seamless hybrid landscapes that support business operations
• Create detailed technical specifications and architectural blueprints for SAP implementations and enhancements, providing clear guidance for development teams

Technical Leadership

• Conduct thorough code reviews for ABAP developments, ensuring adherence to coding standards, best practices, and performance guidelines across all development activities
• Review and analyse performance test results, identifying bottlenecks and recommending optimisation strategies to improve system efficiency and user experience
• Provide technical guidance to development teams on SAP technologies, integration patterns, and solution approaches, fostering knowledge sharing and best practices

Platform Expertise

• Architect solutions leveraging SAP Business Technology Platform services including Integration Suite, Analytics Cloud, and extension capabilities to meet complex business requirements
• Design and implement hybrid landscapes connecting on-premises SAP systems with cloud services, ensuring secure and efficient data flow between platforms
• Evaluate and recommend appropriate SAP technologies for specific business scenarios, considering factors such as cost, performance, and long-term maintainability

Performance & Quality Assurance

• Establish performance testing frameworks and review test results to ensure solutions meet performance requirements and can handle expected system loads
• Conduct architectural reviews to identify potential performance, security, and scalability issues before they impact production environments
• Develop standards and guidelines for SAP development and deployment practices, ensuring consistency and quality across all SAP initiatives

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, with minimum 7 years of SAP experience including at least 3 years in solution architecture roles
• Extensive experience with on-premises SAP systems (ECC, S/4HANA) and deep understanding of SAP Business Technology Platform services and capabilities
• Knowledge of ABAP programming skills with ability to review and optimise code for performance and maintainability, including experience with modern ABAP development techniques
• Proven experience in performance testing methodologies and tools for SAP environments, with ability to interpret results and recommend improvements

Technical Skills

• Expertise in SAP integration technologies including PI/PO and API management, with hands-on experience implementing complex integration scenarios
• Knowledge of SAP Fiori, UI5, and modern SAP development frameworks, including experience with responsive design and user experience principles
• Understanding of database performance tuning and system optimisation techniques, with ability to troubleshoot and resolve performance issues
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for SAP development, including automated testing and deployment strategies
• Knowledge and/or hands-on experience on AWS a plus

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud migration projects and hybrid landscape management, including planning and executing large-scale system transformations
• Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks and methodologies, with ability to align technical solutions with business strategy
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with excellent communication skills, able to present complex technical concepts to both technical and business stakeholders
