M01 - Solution Architect

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to design, implement, and oversee cloud-based solutions within Government Commercial Cloud (GCC) environments. The successful candidate will lead the architectural design of scalable, secure, and compliant cloud infrastructure while ensuring alignment with government standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Architecture & Strategy

• Develop comprehensive cloud architecture strategies supporting government operations and digital transformation initiatives.
• Design end-to-end solutions leveraging commercial cloud services while maintaining strict security and compliance standards.
• Ensure solutions meet performance, cost-efficiency, and policy compliance requirements.

Stakeholder Engagement & Advisory

• Engage stakeholders across government departments, from senior executives and policymakers to technical teams and end users.
• Translate complex technical concepts into business language for non-technical stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance to development teams and infrastructure specialists.

Solution Design & Governance

• Translate business requirements into technical solutions aligned with government cloud policies.
• Conduct architectural reviews and provide technical leadership.
• Establish best practices for cloud adoption and DevOps implementation.

Compliance, Risk & Security

• Collaborate with cloud providers, security teams, and compliance officers to ensure adherence to government standards for data protection, privacy, and operational resilience.
• Conduct risk assessments and guide cloud migration strategies.
• Ensure compliance with government cybersecurity frameworks and data sovereignty requirements.

Documentation & DevOps Enablement

• Produce detailed technical documentation and architecture artifacts.
• Champion DevOps culture and practices across government teams.
• Promote automation, CI/CD adoption, and operational excellence.

Essential Requirements

Experience & Cloud Expertise

• Minimum 4 years experience working with Government Commercial Cloud platforms and public sector environments.
• Strong expertise in AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, with relevant certifications.
• Deep understanding of public sector constraints, compliance, and regulatory requirements.

Stakeholder & Communication Skills

• Proven ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience facilitating workshops, executive presentations, and technical briefings.
• Demonstrated success in managing complex stakeholder relationships and building consensus.

DevOps & Infrastructure

Extensive DevOps experience including:

• CI/CD pipelines
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates)
• Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Configuration management & automated testing frameworks
• Proven implementation of DevOps practices in government environments.

Security & Compliance Knowledge

• Comprehensive knowledge of government security frameworks, compliance standards, and data sovereignty requirements.
• Familiarity with government procurement processes and vendor management.

Leadership & Problem Solving

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional communication and presentation abilities.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects while maintaining stakeholder alignment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced cloud architecture certifications from major providers.
• DevOps-related certifications.
• Experience with government cloud initiatives or frameworks.
• Knowledge of emerging technologies such as AI, machine learning, and edge computing in government contexts.
• Experience in legacy system modernization and digital transformation projects.
• Proven success managing stakeholders at senior government levels.
• Change management experience in large organizations.
