Schedule: 40 hours/week (Sun–Sat availability; Shifts: 07:15 AM – 05:45 PM) + Fair share of call

Compensation: $55.92 – $64.62 / hour

Relocation Assistance: Up to $10,000 available

Job Summary

A well established hospital is seeking a Cath Lab Special Procedure Technologists. The ideal candidate will assist credentialed providers with diagnostic, interventional, and therapeutic procedures within cardiac and vascular laboratory environments. He or she will operate under direct physician supervision to deliver high-quality patient care, maintain radiation safety standards, and support seamless laboratory operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Procedures: Serves as scrub, monitor/recorder, and x-ray technician for procedures. Prepares and positions patients, monitors hemodynamic activity, obtains arterial/venous hemostasis (including sheath removal and hemostatic device management), and administers intra-coronary/intra-arterial medications under direct physician supervision.
  • Equipment & Image Management: Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots specialized equipment (IVUS, Site Rite, Atherectomy Devices, Pacemakers/ICDs, PACS image retrieval). Performs point-of-care testing (ACT, oxygen saturations, glucose, ABGs).
  • Patient Safety & Monitoring: Recognizes cardiac arrhythmias and hemodynamic waveforms, alerting the team immediately. Delivers basic/advanced life support (including defibrillation) when required.
  • Radiation Safety & Compliance: Manages radiation safety protocols, completes administrative documentation, performs equipment quality assurance, and assists with facility compliance surveys.
  • Operational Support: Rotates call coverage with a required 30-minute on-site response time. Maintains sterile fields, restocks supplies, assists with patient transport, and educates patients on procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 12 continuous months of cardiac cath lab, electrophysiology (EP), and/or special procedures experience within the last 3 years.
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology (ARRT) program.
  • Licensure & Certifications:

    • Oregon Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist License OR Washington Certified Radiologic Technologist
    • ARRT Radiologic Technologist Certification
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 1 month of hire
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 2 months of hire
    • One of the following within 12 months of hire: RCIS, RCES, ARRT (Vascular Interventional), or ARRT (Cardiac Interventional)
  • Requirements: Ability to meet the 30-minute call response time; strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; commitment to a collaborative labor/management framework.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of recent EP, interventional cardiac, and/or vascular lab experience.
  • Current RCIS, RCES, ARRT-CI, or ARRT-VI credential at time of hire.
  • Demonstrated expertise in EKG rhythm and dysrhythmia recognition.
