Position Overview

We are seeking an Electronics Hardware Specialist to support the development and ongoing advancement of electronic systems used in circuit protection products. This position combines hands-on hardware engineering with new product development, testing, regulatory compliance, manufacturing support, and troubleshooting.

The successful candidate will contribute throughout the product lifecycle, from requirements and initial design through validation and production launch. The role involves close collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, quality, marketing, suppliers, contract manufacturers, and customer-facing teams.

Depending on experience, this individual may also lead technical workstreams and provide technical guidance related to electronic product development.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop analog and digital electronic circuits for embedded hardware products.
• Perform engineering analysis, hardware testing, troubleshooting, and design verification.
• Support products from initial concept and requirements development through validation and production launch.
• 
  Develop solutions that meet performance, reliability, quality, and EMI/EMC requirements.Partner with marketing and cross-functional stakeholders to translate customer and market needs into technical product requirements.
• Develop working knowledge of applicable industry and regulatory standards, including UL, CSA, IEC, and NEMA requirements.
• Coordinate engineering activities across multiple projects involving internal teams, suppliers, contractors, consultants, and manufacturing partners.
• Support contract manufacturers and assist with production test development and execution.
• Investigate manufacturing, field, and product-quality issues using structured root-cause analysis and implement corrective solutions.
• Provide technical support for customer application and product-performance concerns.
• Participate in hardware bring-up, debugging, signal characterization, and product validation activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve engineering tools, development processes, design methodologies, and product performance.
• Conduct technical investigations and research to resolve complex hardware and system-level problems.
• Provide technical guidance or mentorship to engineering team members when appropriate based on experience.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution.
• At least 5 years of new product development experience.
• At least 2 years of experience architecting, designing, or developing embedded electronic products.
• Hands-on experience with analog and digital circuit design, testing, or troubleshooting.
• Knowledge and practical experience with EMI/EMC design principles.
• Experience with Altium Designer or comparable schematic capture and PCB layout software.
• Must be authorized to work without current or future employer-sponsored immigration support.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience with hardware bring-up, debugging, signal characterization, and manufacturing support.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving electronic hardware or system-level problems.
• Familiarity with regulatory and industry standards such as UL, CSA, IEC, or NEMA.
• Background in one or more of the following areas: industrial electronics, electrical protection systems, metering, controls, embedded systems, or power electronics.

Additional Position Details

This is an individual contributor opportunity with occasional travel. Management experience and a security clearance are not required.
